North Carolina Central University alumnus Michael L. Smith was recently named senior deputy general manager for the Department of Aviation at Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport.
In this role, Smith manages day-to-day functional operations at the airport, including terminal and landside operations; commercial operations; planning and development; finance; procurement; and IT.
Prior to joining the Hartsfield-Jackson team, Smith was a private practice attorney specializing in local government law, airport and aviation.
