Morehouse students present medical research at Howard Hughes Medical Institute

Two Morehouse students, Ziha Meghoo-Peddie and Darius Artis, presented their research today at the Howard Hughes Medical Institute research facility in Virginia. The biology majors presented data pertaining to the isolation of 24 viruses that were isolated and purified by our students this fall. Additionally, they presented the fully characterized genomic data for four of these viruses. This work was done through the – Phage Hunters and the viruses isolated are bacteriophages, or viruses that can kill bacteria.
