What do we inherit?
As HBCU graduates, many of us understand that knowledge travels in more than one direction.
It comes through classrooms, mentors, lived experience, family stories, community wisdom, and conversations around kitchen tables.
Recently, I launched the first story in a new series called The Vance Chronicles, part of a larger project called Transgenerational Whispers.
The first story, The Reunion Table, begins with a simple question:
"Why did Papa Paul die so young?"
What follows becomes a conversation about family history, trust, memory, inherited beliefs, and the stories that shape our choices.
