Is Black America is Too Stuck On Race Posted on 04-07-2004
Punk'd

Maybe it is just me but Black America seems too stuck on race. It seems like everything has to be black or white.

Black America is definitely too stuck on race. It has become so bad that black people have become racist themselves.

America itself is stuck on race. It has been since the founding of this country. It was either the Europeans against Native Americans or Europeans against Blacks. Why are Blacks so racist now? The truth is that Black people have been racist since the **** days........there just wasn't much room for argument with the whip and chains to "keep us in our place." I guess we still can't get over the 400+ years of slavery and oppression (that seems to be continuing). Maybe when we reach that perfect Utopia race won't be a concern. Maybe people will be judged by the content of their character, and not by the color of their skin (R.I.P. Dr. MLK) and racism will cease to exist. Until then..........I'll remain "racially aware."

I was thinking the same thing. Not only are African-Americans racist but America in general.

i agree with the above posts. it's not just black America, but this entire nation, and as long as things keep going the way they are, I think people always will put a lot of emphasis on race.

No, I don't think that we are stuck up on race. We are simply taking pride in our heritage and saying what needs to be said, which is seriously neccesary. I can see how people can get it confused as "racism" since just about everything thing is black people this and white people that, but its not racist at all. Because if we our selves as "black people" don't speak up about our "black issues" then nothing will be resolved within our "black community". .
