Did you choose the College/University you are currently attending? If you attend a Liberal Arts College, A&TUniversity, or whatever why did you choose your school and what sparked your intrest ? Whats sets a Liberal Arts College apart from an A&T College ? To start ...I am looking for a medium size school that has smaller class sizes along with with a welcoming atmosphere ... *Howard *Hampton *Spelman -Liberal Arts * NC A&T - * Florida A&M - Are all great schools ... so why did you choose your school?

I attend Alabama A&M University. The A&M part stands for Agricultural and Mechanical and A&T stands for Agricultural and Technology. My school specializes in Agricultural and Mechanical with other diciplines as well. I had a choice to either go to Morgan State, Bethune Cookman, FAMU, Hampton, Howard, AAMU, or Clark Atlanta University. I visited all of the schools and narrowed it down to CAU, Hampton, Howard.AAMU wasn't even in top three. But when I visited AAMU, which was the last visit. The campus was so beautiful. It looked better than all the HBCU's I just listed as far as appearance goes. (Not trying to hate yall go see for ya self) But anyway the southern hospitality was extreme. Everyone treated me like I was family. And even though I received good vibes from CAU, it was nothing like AAMU. And plus they offered me a partial scholly. I wouldn't change my school for nothing and I would compare it to any school out there..... even the white ones LOL GOOOOOOOOOOOO BULLDOGS!!!!!!!!!!!

i attend alabama state university. i had got accepted into spelmen, clark atlanta, and north carolina a&t. i didnt want to attend clark atlanta or spelman bc they 10 minutes from my house. north carolina a&t was to far for me so i decided to go to alabama state bc thats only 2 hours from atlanta. i also fell in love with the band when they came for the honda battle of the bands. another reason i pick alabama state is bc their tution is reasonable.

Out of all the schools you listed up there, Spelman is definately the smallest. With only a little over 2000 students, if smaller classes sizes is what you're looking for you will find it here for sure. The thing that really made me want to come to Spelman was the atmosphere I witnessed when I came to visit. The campus is beautiful, they really keep it up well. And the girls didn't look like they were all ridin on a high horse, of course there are some who are stuck up but that's everywhere. The liberal arts label on Spelman means they focus on the liberal arts such as English and the social sciences. However I saw that you wanted to be a doctor/dentist and Spelman is number two behind Xavier in getting african american females into med school. Thas my two cents, hope I was helpful.

I attend Centra;l State University. I chose this school because It was an ALL black school. It was small about 1600 students and growing... this year we are supposedly getting 1000 freshman. I went to a basketball game while I was in highschool... and it was fun and just live.... alot of energy.... besides everybody kept saying that it was a bad school.... and I was curious... so I sent my application in and I got accepted. I like being there for the most part....

i chose UMES (University of MD Eastern Shore)..cuz they chose me & gave me a scholarship...so my parents wouldnt let me turn it down...i hadnt seen the campus til i took my placement test..if i had not gone here..i would either be at Hampton, U of MD - College Park, or Temple...but over the years..i've been to a couple other HBCUs..appearance wise..we do pretty well..alotta people who come here when i'm giving tours say its 1 of the prettiest campuses they seen...usually people on HBCU tours... also, we're a pretty good school if ur lookin into becoming a doctor...whether it be a regular physician..a dentist..a vet (i dont think there are any other black agriculture departments in MD or DC..or at least 1 w/ a farm...i could be wrong)..or if u wanna enter grad school for some biomedical science.. we also seem 2 attract alot of fashion majors who try and get dual degrees here and at FIT at the same time... we're good 4 other things 2...but i dont pay 2 much attention 2 the other majors cuz mine is already covered (i'm a biology major)
