Was it worth it? Posted on 12-22-2006

After ranting and raving about what school you wanted to go to, after dealing with fiancial aid lines and lack of housing provided for you, after putting up with bad attitudes and being broke for the sake of an education at an HBCU? ...was it worth it?

Helllllllllllllllllllllllllll yeah.... I wouldn't trade my undergrad experience in for nothing. Even in my post undergrad struggle I'm still one happy dude. If anything, my collegiate experience has prepared me for the real world cus there are some cold mothaF@ckas out here truth be told lol. for real. The connections and experiences i've had these last 4 years are priceless. Good and Bad. I've learned so much and I feel that i'm a better man afterwards. Morehouse was good to me tho... I'm sure everybody doesn't feel the same way but your experience is what you make it. You are paying a ridiculous amount of money for the time you spend at your respective institutions so it only makes sense that you take advantage and make the most of it. I can say that my experience at Morehouse is one that is almost fraternal (really is to be honest... again not everybody who goes/went here will feel the same way). I've realized more now that I've graduated. I love the AUC... spelman, CAU and Morris Brown. I've had my ups and downs but its those experiences that have molded me into the man I am today and I'm doing alright if I do say so myself.

I would most definately say it was all worth it. Howard is the place where I have grown into myself, made bonds and friendships that will last a lifetime, and learned things about myself that I didn't even know before. My years at Howard have been the hardest and most challenging that I have ever faced in my life, but...they have also been the most enlightening, memorable, and enjoyable years of my life. As much as I can't wait to get out, it scares me to death thinking about life outside of my HU comfort zone. Even with all of the ups and downs, there is no other school on the face of the planet that I would rather attend.

^idiot Even though I transferred from Paine after only one yr, I'd never trade that yr for anything. I met some cool **** people that I still fux wit and had some of THE best experiences there. We got into so much trouble, chilled and had so much fun, and was the envy of most students. I loved that sh!t. Now I'm at Albany State, "da bany", and I just love this place. All the championships we win, all the cool **** real friends I got, all the trouble we still get into, and even the classes and the teachers are irreplaceable. I swear me and my friends have the best experiences and we laugh so freakin hard. I was also forced to grow up and get an apt, pay bills, get a job, and just know how to handle myself. Was it worth it? Hell yeah it's worth it. I can't picture myself at any other school having these great experiences
