I'm trying to keep this a non-political thread but I'm sure it'll pop up in the discussion.
Here's the question...
With the cost of gas becoming somewhat astronomical, do you find yourself cutting back on the places you go/amount of driving you do? Or do you continue on like normal?
For example, Memorial Day was yesterday and is always a big travel holiday. Did you stay home and BBQ as opposed to last year when you went to any and everybody's cookout you knew of?
Or another example, if you get home and realize that you forgot to get the cookies you wanted, do you get em the next time you're in the store or do you go back and get em simply because you want a snack after dinner?
Let's hear it!
Yes I cut back on alot of places that I normally go... or I wouldnt say cut back, I just dont drive too much. I walk as much as I can since most of the places that I tend to go are close to home. If Im going to another city, I take the BART ( like da subway ina way). Its ALOT cheaper than filling up the gas tank!
Awww, you poor widdle drivers...got to pay for gas and evewything...:p
All right, I'm done teasin'. Thank goodness for that MTA we gots in NY...
MTA...going your way...
I think as a nation we gots places to be, so in the long run we dont limit disbursement on gas/commute, but in lieu we subconsiously budget with more scrutiny in other areas of expedinture ....
i.e- spending less on other things, because gas is so much to afford to go where needed...
I know that I don't drive as much as I used to. When I got bored I would drive around people-watchin and stuff. Nowadays that ain't going down, if it ain't necessary, I try to find a way around having to drive.
Now that the baby is here, more folk are willing to travel out here to the middle of nowhere. So instead of us using up all of our gas, they're using theirs. lol
And public transpo around here is a joke so I don't even bother.
