Seriously, anybody that has ever worked any sort of Retail Store knows what I mean.
I *currently* work at Best Buy in their Computer Department. So I basically have to sell $1000++ machines to customers everyday. It ain't like I work in some upscale rich neighborhood. Folx around here are pretty much middle-class folx.
The shyt, that pisses me off is the fact that I'm a DAMN good salesman. In addition to your computer that is $800, I STILL have to convince you why you need a $199.99 service plan on your computer, and WHY you need the more expensive Gold printer cable instead of the silver one.
Yesterday I had a sale that came up to $1,910. Then right after that I had a sale that was $1,699. I basically made Best Buy over $36,000, and probably $300-$500 in profit. How much did I make off each sale???
$9.00/hr.
This ****is ridiculous. I gotta find me a betta hustle, I might see if Chippendales is hiring.
i totally understand. most electronic, or even specialty stores are going to non-commisioned sales. i work at circuit city.... it also depends on when you started working there as well... if you started somewhere getting paid on commission, generally, they won't change you over. but here is my theory. BUSH has screwed the economy up SOOOO much in his term, companies are trying to cut their costs as much as possible. circuit city, ultimate electronics, best buy etc would much rather pay someone by looking at their sales, and POSSIBLY giving them a raise, versus setting a price on how much someone sells a day and giving them a percentage. if companies did that, they would have to pay the employee more, because the employee would bust their **** more trying to seel more products. non-commisioned sales give the company more control over how much they spend on employee paychecks.... with only a possibility of the employee making more money... but that is just my two cents on how the system works....
lol yo i feel yo

Alot of stores are cutting comission to save money. From a business stand point it is a HELL of a lot cheaper to hire a bunch of 16-26yr olds and tell them to sell computers and TV's worth $2000 and pay them $9/hr, rather than giving them 5% of the actual sale. Besides, in this economy folx is so happy JUST TO HAVE A JOB, that they don't have the audacity to **** and moan about commission.
If you want comission you gotta work for Lexmark or Verizon or a REAL sales position.
