The organizations i'm involved with have sponsored a few of the traditional fundraisers.
My OES Chapter purchased Krispy Kreme Doughnut Coupons at a fraction of the cost and sold them at a higher price to raise money. We made out pretty good too. The coupons didn't expire and it was better than trying to sell actual doughnuts. A lot less work and alot more profit.
An annual event my NCNW sponsors is a seminar for Girls ages 13-19.
Our workshop topics include:
*****/HIV Awareness/Prevention
*The Role of Hip Hop/Rap Music in Our Society and Self-Image
*Goal Setting Skills
*“Dressing for Success” – A teen fashion show and make-up session
This event is informative, enjoyable, and educational and the parents love it. We're so well-known with this event that we automatically receive funds from corporations annually and free media coverage before and after the event. The donations we receive far exceed the money we put out to sponsor it. It's wonderful.
We even gain new members among the parents who attend once they see first hand the things we do. Among these parents and sponsors are prominent members of the community who give even more to insure this annual event continues.
