We have Howard, Hampton, A&T, FAMU, and a plethora of others...
The SWAC on the other hand has Southerm, Grambling J-State, ASU, and a few others....only good school yall got academically is Tuskeegee.
So...yall may produce a few athletes, but what successful and/or prestigious alum come outta the SWAC ??? And I DARE for somebody out the SWAC to say that they have the better students...

Being from NC i can tell u that A LOT of people applied to A&T b/c it was easy to get into and that was their only option, not saying that people aren't smart b/c my best friend goes there and is doing big things, but they have a high acceptance rate.

That is the main reason A&T was not a school I applied to. Everybody and their damn mama was going their and I wanted to get away to something new and new people. If I went to A&T it would had been like high school all over again. Not to make A&T look bad, but back home A&T is the school YOU KNOW you will get into no matter what...
Its one thing to get accepted into a school. Its a whole new ball game when the school comes to you. Even stupid people can get into Yale and Harvard. If you've got the money, rest assure they'll let your lil sorry **** in and at least give you a shot. But its not like schools don't be recruitin. Hell... Hampton wouldn't leave me the f**k alone. :roll: They blew up my phone, my mailbox was stuffed with crap, damn recruiter pulled me out of class. Its too many people from NC that go there though... not big enough that I'on see people that I'on wanna see... :?

A&T has about 13000 people that go here from various states. The school is large enough that if I don't wanna see somebody, I'on have to see them. Hampton on the other hand is a little larger than my high school... :? But its not NC people I wanna get away from, just the idiots from my hometown. Too many of them were tryin to get into Hampton, even though most ended up going here.

Yes, I thought it was unusual too. I think one of the guidance counselors had something to do with it. I'on know how in the hell else they just found me out of all these other students. Little did I know that they knew I was coming... my uncle (who has influence in the Engineering Dept) found out about a scholarship that hadn't been offered to anyone yet, and told them to hold it for me. At any rate, my application was taken by hand to the Chancellor's office and signed by him and the scholarship was mine on the same day. That is how I was duped into coming here... Had I known then what I know now, I prolly would have ended up at Hampton, or possibly at FAMU.
Hampton, a lil bigger than your HS?? :lol: I went to one of the top 5 largest High schools in NC, and it wasn't a third of HIU's size. How many students did your school have? Hampton (the largest private HBCU) is bigger than the overwhelming majority of HBCUs and larger than many small towns, so don't even try that one bruh- u know im the resourceful guru on here, LOL. I will admit A&T is much bigger, but where did you get 13,000 students from???? T's total enrollment is right at 10,000, you can check your own website on that one for 2004, as well as meacsports.com confirming.
In 2003, there were only 191 students at Hampton from NC out of 5800 students total, ranking # 7 out of all states, even Georgia beat NC out. But I wonder how many did NCA&T have from NC :?: You did man up and admit tho that most of your hometown peeps ended up goin to T.
Damn shame how you were tricked like that! You're not the first aggie I have heard get in that way through their parents. Must be that AGGIE PRIDE heh! not picking, thats good, Hamptonians need to start forcing our children to go. :lol:
Sounds like you were/are very bright, now I see why HIU was after you, but we still have the best and the brightest (including the alums) :wink:

No offense to the Morgan St. students....but the people from my hs that chose to go there went b/c that's the only school they knew they was guaranteed to get into. When a rep from Morgan came to my school he told us all we needed was a 2.0 and like 800 on the SAT's (some people accepted got lower) i was like damn.....

From what ive been told, Morgan has a good Engineering Program and i know my school has the best Nursing school in the State of Louisiana

I was going off of the reported numbers for this upcoming 2004-2005 year for my population statistics, which you'll see comes out to be 13000 and some change. Come on now... as much as I whip out the numbers on people, you really think I'm screw up on my own? Take into account how many students don't live on campus there and you'll probably end up with half that 5800 living on campus. A&T has roughly 6000-8500. If my high school had damn near 2000 people going there, we got a problem... :? I actually have to make an effort not to be seen by the people from my hometown as it is, which pretty hard, since I know most of the people here.... God foirbid I should be at HIU. :roll: Granted, like I said before, most of the black folks from my graduating class came to A&T anyway, but even the thought of people applying to that school was enough to makr me cringe... :? Its okay though... my folks are gonna pay for this when I go to Southern for grad school...
