The Unification of the African American and Hispanic Community (Cont) Posted on 05-30-2007
PNN

In conclusion, Hispanics must work together with African Americans to deal with the Political, Cultural, Communication, and Community issues that both minority groups face. African Americans have been struggling for many years now for equality and freedom, and it becomes necessary for the other minority group, the Hispanics to join hand with the African American to seek for equality and freedom as well. Strengthening the relationship between the African Americans and Hispanic communities calls for massive education of both groups in terms of their history, culture, language, value, and ideologies. A better understanding of these will enhance healthy interaction that will lead to a health community living. HBCUs must continue to educate the minorities who may not have access, or meet the requirements for admission into the other Colleges and Universities. They must strive to lower the cost of education by working with different entities in order to award more scholarships to those who can not afford the money to go to school. Go to the low income communities, provide tutorial services to those students in high schools who need assistance, talk to them about the importance of going to college, and show them available scholarship funds for those who want to attend college.
