Myself as minority, I have come across many issues around the world that need to seen in the public eye and resolved. Political, cultural, communication, and community issues between the African American and Hispanic population need discussed and put to an end. Unity is the key word to accomplish anything in this world. If we are always going against each other, how can we make the world a better place without each other’s help? Together we stand, divided we fall. Not just African Americans and Hispanics should work together, but all races. We stand all as one and as one country. Both groups have shared the hardships of racism, and oppression. We also have both fought for equal access to opportunity in our society. We must work together to ensure our civil liberties are protected. Unity is power. We have power in the vote, in coming together and exchanging ideas that will enhance our communities. In order to prevent losing our political, cultural, communication in the community, we must make ourselves heard in an orderly and unified force. There must be a resolution of the growing issue of illegal aliens, which currently creates much resentment between the two groups. The fact of cheaper labor and illegal’s’ attitude of whites to hire illegal’s above blacks. There must be a reckoning of these issues in which will stabilize the attitudes of opposition among the two groups. There must be a fair and equal system for all people. Everyone must qualify for jobs; be made to qualify for access to this country. This is only fair that everyone in the United States be treated equal and as one. Special privileges should not be given to those who “think” they deserve to be treated differently or better than other people. Many things need to be done to strengthen the relationship between the African American and Hispanics communities living within the United States. We first need to learn to respect each other in any matter. If we cannot respect each other, we have no unity, just an angry mob. Many say it is an issue that we as Americans should or must learn the second language of Spanish to better assist Hispanics. In one part, I agree with this opposition, but in return, Hispanics should also learn English as their second language. Agree to disagree; yet, try to improve our problems to benefit all people, not just one group. We must be careful not to discriminate among ourselves. The old adage, history is bound to repeat itself. We do not want to bring about a return of the same civil rights issues our ancestors fought so hard for us to overcome. We should become more politically aware. Read about the candidates we vote into office. Write our State and Congress representatives of our problems and get them to bring them before the Congressional hearings. Prayer can strengthen all things. We must pray and vote for spirit filled leaders. We must prepare ourselves intellectually to fight the racisms against all groups. There should be no African American vs. Hispanic labeling. These type labels of problems perpetuate the problems and keep it going. Do not feed this fire of diversity. Historically Black College & Universities need to continue to support the needs of African American Students and possibly the needs of the growing Hispanic (and afro-Hispanic) population in the United States because it is the only way our minorities can succeed in their goals. If we do not continue to support our own, we are the new social engineers will erase them. We need our own support group of power it seems to protect ourselves from groups like the **** and other social engineers who are quietly controlling our lives; economics; and way of thinking. The very reason we had black colleges in the first place still exist today in some factors. The method of restrain has become more subtle and in time has improved for us, but I believe support of the Black Colleges and Universities is in needed for all. We are still the minority in some facets. If we work as one, nothing can stop us as African Americans and Hispanics. We can defeat all stereo types and criticism and put it to a stop. If we cannot work together to stop the hatred then we will continue to be looked at in the public eye as the ones who fight against each other with ridiculous issues. I believe once we learn to work together and not against each other, we will be unstoppable.
