Despite the excitement and interest of the Presidential campaign, what is the next step?
We can't afford to be shortsighted and focus so much on getting a particular candidate in office, that we don't have a plan for him/her to be accountable once they are there.
What issues are most important: foreign affairs, the economy, health, etc?
This will be a particularly divisive campaign, and it is just getting started. How will our nation's next leader rebuild from a difficult election process, and start getting cooperation to move forward?
Well that's the presidents job...
to come up w/ the correct plan of action....and lead the country in the "right" direction...
I know that Obama has outlined a Cause and Effect and Action Plan for many of the Nation's top issues...
So...hold them accountable for what they professes they will do..
I think he should jump right into redefining the legal jusidiction and aspects of the civil rights attorneys in our bueracracy... Alot of people dont understand how the incumbency of the old lawyers kills alot of our appealate racial wrongdoing cases before they start ...
Now he has to do the best he can the keep this country going and improving our relations with the rest of the world.
That is exactly what he needs to focus on. I feel that he would be great for improving our relations with the rest of the world. For one thing, he is African American and he looks like the people in other parts of the world. I don't know how well or receptive other countries will be to, McCain, another white male. America needs Obama, so he can go in and fix all this stuff with foreign countries.
I think foreign affairs should be the first priority of Obama. We have to minimize external threats to the United States. After he establishes a better relationship with other foreign countries, he should focus on the economy. As a country, we are becoming to service oriented and focused on the bottom line, which is profit. I think we need to find a balance between services and products. Obama needs to focus on decreasing the national unemployment rate, and reward companies that employ U.S. workers.
^^^ Maybe, but in the period of an economic recession, domestic legislation defects, the current period of globalization, monetary inbalances, and libertarian concept rise on our bureacracy... Maybe domestic affairs hold a lil importance 2...
I agree...Foreign affairs is a wonderful revenue, but we need to take care of some stuff at home first. You can't show others that your glass of water is clean compared to theirs, when yours still got some dust bunnies up in there. I figure that would be the idea of being leaders of the 'free world' and all...to show why our system works and can work for others as well.
