First off morehouse and havard aren't even on the same scale.lol. One is a liberal arts school and one is a research university. I'm sorry akeem but to say all universities are "equal" is just dumb. No matter how much you want that to be true its not. Those rankings aren't wrong. I'm sure you are smart enough to realize that you have to combine all of those characteristics for them to come up with the rankings. They aren't just going to say 'oh look at southern what great alumni contributions lets place them at the top' ****. It is a COMBINATION. That isn't a stupid reason to rank a school. If alumni aren't supporting a school there is probably a reason. If you think saying another school is better than southern is putting it down you need a reality check. There will always be schools that are better than others its part of life. I guess you think all students are equally smart as well.lol. The morehouse harvard comparison is just dumb. Like I said morehouse=lac harvard=research university. If I was a guy I'd pick morehouse over harvard. BUT i'd also pick morehouse over southern. Like I said I value the idea of an hbcu experience, but there are better hbcu's. I've never met someone who denied that some schools are better than others. What I most often here is that the social experience is better, or the school is more well rounded. My top choice school is Spelman, but my mom wants it to be Columbia. I realize that Columbia has a higher endowment, better aid, and more course offerings etc. Yet, I'm picking the school that will give me the more well rounded experience. Even if I do think Columbia is probably the better school, I'd be happier at Spelman. That doesn't mean I need to live in a little fantasy world about which school is truly academically seen as superior. And I'm not just saying it is better because it is a pwi. My dad wants me to attend Valpo because that is where he went. Yet I'm well aware that Spelman is the better school than Valpo, and on top of that I don't believe I'd enjoy Valpo's social experience in a small slightly racist town.

We just need to agree to disagree because i choose clark atlanta over morehouse, howard, xavier, and cal berkely. That must mean i am stupid also because i looked at the school that i thought was a good education and the atmosphere i wanted to be in. Colleges are ranked is a stupid idea because your getting the same education where ever your going. Southern University gets alot of money from their alumni and their alumni is supporting check them out on saturday of a football game at mumford stadium. Howard, FAMU, and Morehouse were just on probation for money issues but that didnt ruin their rankings. Lets just agree to disagree because schools to me is where you want to go no matter what ppl rank it.

I agree that we need to agree to disagree. My point has nothing to do with where you should go. I just said that I'm not even applying to Columbia a school that is top ranked and i'm a legacy, being black doesn't hurt either. Yet I'm applying ED to Spelman. So obviously that isn't the way I'm picking my school but I recognize that in western civilization we have rankings for reasons and schools are ranked in tiers. I don't care where you chose to go that doesn't decide what school is the best. That was just your preference. Just like my preference is Spelman despite that I'm an ivy legacy. I find you hard to believe though because you just said you go to clark yet your profile says North Carolina a&t. But whatever. Do you. I'm done.

I'm coming to the AUC because that is my choice and I like Spelman. Anything you say isn't going to change that. Believe me I wouldn't be trying to talk to someone who feels such as you anyways so don't even worry about ever running in to me. I doubt I'll be spending much time over at Clark anyways. Since ignorant means uneducated you seem quite uneducated on the concept of rankings and what they mean. You don't have to agree with rankings, and I personally don't care rather you do or not. But they aren't something I made up so you can't really call someone ignorant for agreeing with something that is highly regarded by many educated people.

Actually for the major I'm going into I won't have to take any classes there. I have no problem with AUC unity. If I didn't have friends about to go to Morehouse I probably wouldn't be planning on going over there alot either. I just don't particularly care for Clarks campus it has nothing to do with Clarks ranking. And this comment "I disagree with all people believing in the damn rankings its not that i disagree with school being ranked." Doesn't make sense. You think schools should be ranked, but you don't think people should assess and agree with the rankings. IfI didn't think they were accurate I wouldn't agree. I don't agree with the general rankings placement of HBCU's because they take diversity into account, and believe HBCU's lack diversity. I disagree, but I believe that the rankings of HBCU's alone are more accurate. This is why they decided to do them. They finally realized the bias of ranking them against pwi's. I don't believe there is a bias ranking them against themselves. I don't care if you disagree. I agree. I respect that you disagree but you aren't going to make me agree with you. Our opinions are both subjective along with the rankings. Therefore it is ok for us to disagree. You are not debating me with fact and I'm not debating you with fact. It's ALL opinion. P.S. The whole we show auc unity thing is crap. some people do others don't. i know people at spelman and at morehouse who don't really support auc unity. i've been down there and seen the way many people don't agree with auc unity. they rep their school and that is it. or they rep spelhouse unity. i'm not saying i agree that this is how it should be, but to say everybody down there is showing love and unity isn't true.

i mean to say its better not rank schools at all because were all behind these white universities and colleges. Well since you dont like clarks campus why is alot of spelman events held on our promenade that is very interesting.

I don't know why or care why. I PERSONALLY don't care for clark's campus. I really don't favor spelman's much either. i like it better, but my favorite campus is hampton. i like spelman for alot of other reasons besides for the way it looks. I agree that HBCU's are ranked behind, but that is why I like the HBCU rankings. I already said I don't care for the other rankings for the reason you just gave. They are partially behind because they don't represent diversity. Imo they do just in a different way. They aren't meant to be diverse in the same way a pwi is. That would defeat the purpose. Like I said, we don't need to agree. I respect your opinion, but it's just an opinion. No more or less correct than my own.
