Lack of communication could be an issue, but unforgiveness is the major problem. A lot of couples divorce because they aren't willing to forgive. In order to make a relationship work, you must be able to forgive and forget. That would stop a lot of divorces in America. Also, things such as communication is very important before you go as far as getting married. You need to communicate to your partner the things that you desire out of a relationship and the things that are important to you. Things such as religion, do you want to have children, do you have good credit, have you been married before or have children from a previous relationship, etc... are some important things that people need to communicate before you seriously date someone. Lack of communication is a major problem because couples need to know where each partner stands on certain issues.

^true....yes communication is key...the person involved has to know how the other feels. there are going to be misunderstandings and disagreements because no two people are alike, even when those occur, problems can be worked out more smoothly in a less hurtful way...excercising honesty to self first is important before communicating with others...i believe humility, genuine love, honesty, respect, compassion, spirituality, understanding, selflessness, and communication are the keys to a successful relationship rather it be courtship, marriage, family or friendship...forgiveness is important but a person shouldnt expect someone else to easily forgive and forget, they should think about what they do before they do it and how their decisions affect not only themselves but others. grudges are not always good but always forgiving and forgeting can develop into a bad habit within self. some people may confuse unforgiveness with grudges....forgiviness is great, its what a person allows to be forgiven isnt so great

Communication, Compromise, Open-Mindness. Those are three of the things that I feel are the biggest problems. Lack of or Too Much Communication can be a major problem for some ppl. (I don't like talking that much.) Compromise is important because if you can't compromise then you can't work things out with a solution that works for both part then your headed somewhere bad really quick. Open-mindness is great because you won't shoot down the first thing that someone says. So IMO, those are the three biggest problems in relationships.

I feel that an answer to my question could be to first have a relationship with God before getting into a serious relationship. Because if U don't love God you can't love anyone else because you won't know what it is. A man needs an audience, meaning a woman who can listen and honor his words and vision, as God needs us to be his audience for the same. As God loves us I feel like we should love our counterpart. I'm only 17, I've been in more than enough so called "relationships", I didn't know myself so I didn't know what I was lookin for. Finding yourself in the Lord is key, because no therapist, mother, father, brother or sister can tell you how to conduct your relationship properly if they're not in the relationship. Lean not on your own understanding, but have faith in God. The bible is our own personal manual on how to do these things here on Earth.

In the simplest of forms, communication is the foundation of any type of relationship. You can't have a 'relationship' without communication. So I wouldn't even consider it to be a problem, because there's nothing there to build with.
