Is anyone sick of BET? First it was about us, but then we sold out to those other. So the representation of our Black women is less is more and the art of Hoism (pronounced as hoe with ism on the end) is encouraged. Even the simplest videos got "video hoes" n them. For instance Happy People. What was the point of having **** women around the top of the room (was it decoration?). Or even Mase had them in his videos, they were clothed but they were still that barbie doll type that is expected by video hoes. Lastly Tip Drill...nuff said on that one
I dont know...sadly enough I think my mind has gotten so contaminated with seeing video hoes and rappers degrading women on BET and MTV that it doesnt even phase me anymore. I definitely hear your concern, but just seeing it so much after watching years of videos, video hoes, and listening to rap music doesnt even bother me anymore. Its not the mentality I should have, but what can I say...Im just a product of this generation...lol
I won't ever say rappers are degrading women, they just expose them. They are not making these women do the things they do so if anything these women degrade themselves. Sadly it doesn't bother me either. If I don't wanna see it then I just won't watch it.
And i guess I have to agree with u on this one. They make themselves look bad when they agree to do such things with these rappers. Its sad... but when I gets annoying (as it doesn't take long to do..) I turn the channel.
It was cancelled because people stopped watching it. The one program on BET that was positive and had a message for young back people end up going off the air. Go figure.
Maybe because it came on saturaday @1???? I just looked at the lineup of BET programs on my direcTV guide...smh @ all these music shows. Why does 106andpark need to be on twice a day??? Something positive could go in those slots.

The year I was gonna audition was the year it got cancelled.
U know this is really sad. i understand that u can just turn the channel and i do. But what about those children that don't know anything but what they see on tv. What about the children who have no role model? BET is their role model.
Y is it that u don't care? the only advice u have is turn the channel?! that's y our youth are so confused now. Of course we can change the channel but what happens when their mentalities become contaminated with this bullshyt?!
Yes these women have a choice and they are not choosing wisely. Maybe they didn't because more women like urselves said to just turn the channel instead of doing something or speaking up about it. They not only represent themselves but they are portrayed as what every black women should strive to be. That's y most of these little girls don't know how to buy an entire outfit instead of pieces of material that barely cover one cheek!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
