While, it has been stated that AKA officially recognizes the ivy as an official emblem, did you know that some AKAs collect frogs, mice, and rabbits? Supposedly the frogs are to represent that their organization grows in leaps and bounds. The mice are collected, because supposedly it's the only thing that elephants are afraid of. (lol  ) And rabbits are collected due to the sound it makes when first born. They supposedly make the skee-wee sound when first born.
Thank u for clearing this up because me and a friend were arguing that AKAs symbol is the Ivy Leaf and not the damn frog! She says they rep frogs a Tennessee State University :?

The animal mascots are very regional. Most AKAs in this area collect mice. Ones from up north and the deep south collect frogs. It's mainly rabbits in the midwest. Alphas generally collect things with egyptian imagery. Most Alphas have at least one pharoah head floating around the house. We also hold the sphinx and the gorilla/ape in high regard. BTW, Alphas are generally taught not to wear our paraphenalia in bars/clubs, unless we are sponsoring the party. Not every fraternity follows that rule.

Founded at William and Mary College in Williamsburg, VA. Did you know? Sigma Pi Phi (The Boulé) was the first Black fraternity? The fraternity was founded under the direction of Henry M. Minton in Philadelphia, Pennslyvania. This organization was founded for Negro's within the professional ranks of society. I'll be back.
Ok fact you both are right but Phi Beta Kappa was a white Fraternity, and Sigma Pi Phi was for PRFESSIONAL Black Men. Which means Alpha Phi Alpha still REMAINS the FIRST BLACK COLLEGIATE UNDERGRADUATE FRATERNITY. We may not be the first frat or first Black frat, but we are the FIRST BLACK UNDERGRADUATE FRAT. OK, so now what?

Ok fact: We are all tied together in one way or another, we would not exist if the Idea had not started somewhere the fact reamins that no matter who are founders were we are tied together by the oldest Brotherhood known to man "THE MASONS" we were born out the Idea of a brohterhood that can be connected to the educational system. All our motto's have service and education. Brotherhood / Sisterhood is a given, so let's cut the bull and learn to work and live together. FuKc Constitutionla bonds Historical bonds count the most and History puts us all in this thing together. That's why NPHC was founded be cause we are all brothers and sisters. Mom and Pops Are the SQUARES and the STARS! Peace!!

Thats true. Thats probably why back in the day, u didnt hear about different orgs fightin and founders hatin each other because they were here for a purpose. I know as it is written, the AKA's threw my sorority a welcome to campus party when Zeta was first founded.

Lambda Lambda chapter of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity Inc. currently has the highest chapter GPA of any active NPHC organization.
