Most people would agree that our society is drifting away from an emphasis on Christian values - prayer in schools is prohibited by law, religious groups face more and more scrutiny, and acknowledging God in public places is becoming harder and harder.
Is it a good thing, allowing for diversity of faiths and not "forcing" religion on people? Or is it a step towards downfall, as we lose a guiding influence?
Your thoughts...?? Holla!
well i think it is a good thing. you have to realize that not everyone is a christian, therefore not everyone should have to (or even want to) follow christian values. also, i don't think that anyone is losing a guiding influence; i feel that people need to have faith in themselves before anything else.
If by saying "Christian values" you mean love then I would agree yes, our society is shifting away from everyday expressions of love. But we will wake up.
I'm not clear on what you mean by religious groups facing more scrutiny. Perhaps you are pointing out the fact that more and more people are questioning their religious beliefs. This I believe is a good thing, we should spend more time thinking for ourselves, and questioning the fundamental beliefs that we live our lives by. All the knowledge we need is within ourselves all we need to do is use our Creator given powers, which are reasoning and intuition, to figure out what is truth.
Whoever reads this just got lucky... I'm going to tell you a secret... come closer... The Truth is Reality, as it is. In order to realize the truth we must be able to percieve reality correctly. Being able to distinguish between what is real and what isn't. Think.
Yes, it is a good thing to let people worship what they want however they want. No, don't force religion on me. Not forcing religion isn't a step towards downfall. A step towards downfall is when you lied to me. When you told me something that didn't happen the way you said it did. Or you told me something means one thing when it actually represents something completely different, something alot deeper, something the ancients knew.
Can we pleeease take things to the next level???

You statement seems more objective then subjective to me. What about all of the people who a critized for being a Christian. What about what's going on in ****? Christians are being Murdered in other parts of the world for their beliefs and is that fair? Another thing, I know American hasn't yet reach that extreme but we just do it in other forms of oppression and scrunty. I mean I always here negative stuff about how people should be Christans and how wrong it is to make someone feel they need to be a Christian, but honestly no one makes anyone believe in Jesus Christ. They chose to believe in Jesus and what's so wrong with that? The truth is people can be convicted and try to run from the truth. I'm not saying one shouldn't learn their background or belief system just don't knock mine.
Back the original question, I think diversity is fine but other religious sect don't get as much flack as Christians especially in America
America is one of the largest countries. We go to other countries to fight for their right to keep their religion as the national religion. We fight to help countries keep the standard that they have had since the beginning of their existence. But America often forgets its own roots. Those men who started America love them or hate them had a fear of God. Over time that fear has become a lost thought in the minds of many Americans. We have no fear of God. Instead we have abominations running rapid in the streets, murder, ****, killings, and all things that are wicked in vile prevailing while justice fails. Yet, we have the nerve to thank America for taking prayer out of schools, directly separating church and state. I dont understand. It is horrible. If a nation is built on Godly principles how can you separate the Church and the STate. The church is I believe the only reason God has been so gracious to America. Because at one time it yearned to please the Heavenly God now we tell Him to back off I'll do what I wanna. When will we gain the Fear we once had for the one who wakes you up every morning and breathes a breath of fresh air into your lungs. Thank God that you are important enough for to acknowledge with your selfish self.
