I'm a son of a preacher man, but i have my questions about religion too. I know God is real but sometimes i get confused. So to you all religious people think about this.
Was religion created to control people (remember: in the old testament there were no police men) or is religion REAL?

well if religion aint real they were smoking some good a** weed when they made the bible and koran and stuff....
but i guess i believe in religion to a point...just dont believe in all the fire and brimstone mess, if that was hell since im from the south i can deal, my hell would be being in -100 degree weather ****..so i believe everyone has their own personal hell

After much thought, I've come to the conclusion that however real religion may have been when it began, its current incarnation is a form of control. Kings used religion to justify their claim to their thrones. **** owners used religion to justify the use of slaves.
Think about it, why is the Jewish Torah different from the Bible, not just referring to the new testament but the old testament as well. Because somewhere along the way, someone decided that they didnt particularly care for one of the doctrines or one of the books and did away with it or added in another or revised this passage. Remember though it may be the Word of God, it is still written by the Hand of Man.
I think its stupid that some people buy into the words within the bible so quickly without analyzing the past behind the book. There's still knowledge in it, but you have to take that with a grain of salt and realize that there is also some "artificial additives."
On a siderant, my roommate was watching this stupid christian channel and I was quite frankly disgusted with it. They repeatedly painted the Islamic faith as a FAITH OF ****, when that is really NOT the case. According to them, the Muslim faith manages to keep its believers through fear, **** and brainwashing techniques. What makes this worse is that uneducated people will buy into that and believe that this is indeed the truth about Muslims. :roll:
Anyways, I have some more to say about this but I'ma save it till tonight because I got some other ignorance I have to discuss.
