College Republicans Organization Posted on 01-23-2005
1EducatedBrotha

Greetings, The Republican National Committee has established several chapter of the College Republicans organizations across campuses nationwide. However, they have very few chapter on the organizations on HBCU campuses. I do know that Howard has a chapter and we are chartering a chapter here at Hampton. Many people have a misconception of what it is to be a Republican. You do not have to be rich or come from a rich family. So do not let the name turn you off. All it takes is someone who wants to be educated on the issues and the political system in America. If anyone from Hampton or any other HBCUs is interested in joining this organization please feel free to reply to this post or contact me. My email address is milton.bell@pipeline.hamptonu.edu or call me at my office at 321-229-3241. This is a direct number. Thank You, Milton Bell Hampton Univeristy C/O 08 ONYX VII.....BLACK DIAMONDS ARE FOREVER

1. The words Black and Republican do not mix. 2. What have Republicans done for the Black community other than hurt? 3. I am ashamed that Howard has a chapter.

1. Sure they do. I think that we need more Black Republicans or at least Independents to even out the playing field. It's not too smart to put all of our eggs in one basket. The Democrats already know that they have the "Black support", so they really don't have to offer us anything new to get our vote. And the Republicans think that we won't vote for them anyway, so they don't really address our issues as much as we would like. 2. Freed our enslaved ancestors and supported the Reconstruction efforts. 3. I don't go to Howard, so no comment.

It saddens my heart, but it also gives me hope when I see or hear someone mention the words that you did. How can u say that Black and Republican do not go together? Everyone in this country has the right to decide what political organization they would like to be a part of. Just because you are black does not mean u have to be a democrat (how many times must I say that)! If u ever think to wonder why it is the Democrats have lost control of Congress it could be largely due to the fact that they do not get out and try to get in touch with the people. Someone mentioned that blacks are putting all their eggs in the basket of the Democratic Party and giving none to the Republican Party. So why is that we become upset when the Republican Party does address the things we feel they should? But to answer ur question......Under President Bush's Administration(Republican)...... More Blacks.... 1. Own Homes 2. Are in College 3. Own Businesses 4. First Black Secretary of State 5. First Black Female Secretary of State 6. Etc.... Becasue of the mind set you have more blacks turn away from the ****. Since u have such a strong dislike for the Republican Party and believe they have hurt Black Community, tell me 5 things the Democrats have done for it?
