What are the problems with the dudes at your school? Posted on 03-08-2005

It seems like every girl I meet seems to say negative things about dudes from their school, and for those at Spelman, they seem to say negative things about dudes at Morehouse. So to you, what would you say are some of the problems overall about the dudes at your school?

@ CAU there are so few guys that they almost seem like brothers so over to Morehouse I go...There you find a lot of guys who are so very arrogant. Listen up: Juss cuz tha logo on ya overpriced t-shirt reads Morehouse does not mean you are God's gift to women. Then when you find a cool one somehow/someway there strong school pride gets in the way and the arrogance comes up again. If so many of em weren't so damn cocky/arrogant/concieted they'd really be great! Disclaimer: There are sum ones who slipped thru tha cracks and are actually pretty humble and/or down to Earth

o yea...cheating is also a problem in the AUC. you can easily have a female at Spelman and CAU or have two at CAU (can't speak for Spelman)...but i must flip it and say that it is just as easy to have two at Morehouse & CAU...or even Morris Brown (yes there are students there haha i used to talk to one).

they are PRIVATE high school dudes. and even though i'm a high school girl, private school mentalities just seem to be a few years behind, dudes and females.

Umm first the ratio of girls to boys is like 1 to 10-n the ratio for BLACK boys to black girls is like 1 to 19-so if a guy is cute, best believe he got at least 20 other broads sweatin him too. And then the cute ones think you are supposed to bow down to them just because they look good and that you should give up the @ss in the quickness-lol yea right. The not-lookin-great ones think they look like an Ethiopian Prince or somethin and TRY to run mad game at you, and get mad or confused when u turn them down. ****-have u looked in the mirror lately? Step ya game up...please. And then we have the natives EVEYRWHERE-and only a small portion of them look decent, but when u get to know them-the ones i have-they are loosers..lol. Awww and all the good guys-the guy who would make a great boyfriend-are already somebody's boyfriend.

The problem wit guys at my school is there are no guys at my school. Our population is 75% female. I thought I wouldn't care to much when I first got here, but now it's really startint to irk me. But seriously, a lot of these guys here act like they are still in high school. I wish they would grow the hell up already.
Damn. Now that's an estrogen overload! . You need to come up to Hampton and find a real man.
She would, but most of them transferred to Morehouse.

Waaaah, Waaaaah, here we go again: "Morehouse guys are sooooo cocky, they're soooo arooogant, That's their problem." Of course we're cocky, and sometimes arrogant. Its very rare that you'll meet a Morehouse student who isn't. Why? That's part of the Morehouse Mystique. Ain't no point in being meley-mouth about where you go to school or how good you are at something. Hell, I will not hesitate to stand up and not only ENJOY how good I am at somethimg, but I will PROVE IT in every single way. Granted, there are some things I'm not good or even decent at, but I won't brag about that or even bring it up. But let me get invovled with something that I KNOW I'm great at, then nothing is gonna make me not say anything. It's that same cocky-arrogant-hard-headed mentality that helped make all of Morehouse's past alumni so great. When folx was tellin' Martin Luther (Tweed) King to stop doing what he was doing, did he listen to anybody else? When folx was telling Spike Lee that he was crazy for wanting to be a Black Movie Directors, did he listen to anybody? Hell nah, they used that confidence and cockiness to work for them, and if folx didn't believe in them, then so what, the proof is in the pudding.

That degree will only carry you so far...The rest of the world won't give a rats arse about where you attended school.

Well.....that ain't true, cuz I've actually impressed several Bosses in job interviews because I went to Morehouse. But that's beside the point: The point is that its a good thing to have an abundance of confidence, because as a Black Man in America, if you don't believe in yourself, nobody else will.

Amen to that! If you gotta use the fact that you go/went to Morehouse (or any school for that fact) to get a job, internship, or anything out of life instead of WHO you are as a person, something is terribly wrong! And if you think that by letting people know where you went to school will get you an edge in life, I'll admit, it will work, SOMETIMES! But it doesn't last long and you are left falling back on your own behind so make sure you got enough things that represent who YOU are for some cushion so your **** won't hurt when you fall! Pimptight... well at least you know you're cocky and arrogant... but females don't find that cute at all so you might want to take that into consideration too! But hey, do what you do...

I can't really complain about my Hampton men. They're are all types of guys so I really can't really say "oh they're all like this and that." On the real though, Hampton is a campus with THE finest men ever and I've been on quite a few campuses.
