I plan to attend Hampton in the Fall but Im worried I won't get enough Money to go. I am an independent student and I' ve applied to like a thousand scholarships. From experience can any current independent students or prospects of Hampton help a sista out?!

i am none of the above but all i can say is use every source. Network ya **** off and make tons of contacts. make ya need known to strangers, churches, the community, EVERYONE! take individual checks from people (every bit helps)...and never give up

I'm not an independent student, but I go to HU. I think if you have an SAT score higher than 1100, you qualify for an honors scholarship (you can check the HU website for the details). Also, did you fill out your FASFA? Being independent, you could probably get a grant or something from the federal government. Also you can check with your state to see if they give out any special grants or scholarships to independent students. You can also make a profile on www.fastweb.com to see what scholarships you are qualifies for. If all esle fails, like the person above me said, looktowards the community for help.
