What do you ladies do about affording physical upkeep? As far as getting your hair done and stuff. Do you do your hair yourself or is there a salon close to your campus? I currently have a wrap and I definitely require upkeep. I also know that Hampton University requires that you take P.E. WHICH INCLUDES SWIMMING WTF! :x

My hair stylist is off Mercury Blvd...but fortunantely I have friends who don't mind driving me and I took a cab the last time and it was like $12 each way. See, that's exactly why I'm taking bowling as my PE next semester....I'm still trying to figure out how bowling relates to Pharmacy.....
Thank You So Much for all the advice!!! Especially Megan! I was kindaa **** when I thought I had to swim!
That's cool that you can pick which PE to take.
Keep the advice comin'

This is a good topic ... I am a junior in high school rite now and I diddnt know PE was available in College lol thats good tho because I was planning on going to the Gym anyways because I diddnt want to gain weight in college :-) ... But sVVImming is a negative lol i dont want to get my hair wet ! But thats koO how your able to pick what you want.... About the hair situation... I have been going to the same lady to get my hair done since I was in the 7th grade and I dont like to go to new people to do my hair because I am always afraid they will mess it up ... Next year I am thinking about getting my hair cut really short so I wont have to mess with it in college ... rite now I have to get a relaxer every 5 weeks and get it conditioned and all that every two weeks and it gets expensive ... the only reason why I am able to afford it rite now is because I have a job after school but in college I am not planning on working and I know I am not going to want to send me $100 + dollars a month to get my hair done so I am just going to get a short cut :-)

I took bowling last semester. You're going to love it. Dr. Kisabeth is real cool. And all your quizzes are taken online.
What's so bad about PE? Isn't that supposed to be like an easy A?
Lol. Here it's this one nun who teach all these p.e. classes, so it's impossible not to have her. My friend take her for step aerobics and she said they actually have written tests and a final. For step aerobics :???:
Girl Sister Craig does not teach all of the PE classes....lol. I took tennis last semester as my PE course and my homegirl took volleyball (team sports) neither of which are taught by Sister.
Lol....I thought she taught most of them. I just looked in the cataloge and saw her name by most of the p.e. classes. Maybe I'll take it next spring, cause that online registration damn near drove me crazy.
I stay in the salon...Im gettin my hair done this weekend actually..I mean I can do my own hair, as far as relaxers and curling it and whatnot...but Im not a simple girl...so I dont like my hair simple...I always have to have it in a cute style. I JUST stopped wearing nails temporarily...mainly cause I wanted to give my real nails a break. I had been wearkin acrylic tips since December. But having my hair done is a necessity...wearing my makeup is a necessity....
We have PE @ Skegee too. As far as my hair maintance.....I'm only an hr to 2 hr away from the house so I can use my regular beautician but like if I'm in between my two-weeks.......my homegirl hook it up for FREE(now thats in my budget)(lol) or either I can call one of my homies who is also from my homecity to hook me up with some cornrows.

Basketball is one of the easiest PE classes at Hampton (someone correct me if I'm wrong)...tha teacher is mad cool, all we had to do was show up, dressed, and on time, didn't have to wear the gym uniform or nothin. Didn't even have to play if we didn't want to (and most of us girls didn't play at ALL)...no finals, midterms...no tests. It was great...

I'm so glad we didn't have to deal with that shyt. It was bad enough getting classes that I needed to graduate and the biology department head is a straight up bia... if you know what I'm saying. Her **** would not give me an override for this class for JACK..uugh I can't stand her ****.
Oh yeah, I know some folks in karate right now. They like it but they said the instructor is serious about that class. See, I made sure to stay away from Sister Craig cuz her little **** is like an energizer bunny. I remember the first time we saw her walking laps around campus (she used to do them in the summer while we were in HH) we used to be like "damn, is that St. Katherine Drexel?" Ahh, the good ole days.
