Playoff predictions Posted on 04-19-2005
Hershey's Milk Chocolate

Ok my NBA Heads...playoffs start this sunday. How do you think the playoffs will turn out. I know we are in for surprises, but there are some things that are just obvious will happen. My predictions for round 1: THE EAST: Miami vs. New Jersey: Miami was on a roll this year...they did have the best record in the NBA for a while, but they lost it after a few losses and Phoneix making a good run. I'm so disappointed in New Jersey..went from #2 last year to #8. I don't expect much from them. Jason Kidd and Vince Carter cannot do it by themselves...maybe next year when Jefferson comes back. Miami has too much fire power. Wade and Shaq makes a good combo and will be hard to beat. Miami also has some good defense, so it will be hard for the Nets to do anything good. I see this series as 4-1. Detriot vs. Philly: Detriot right now is on a 10 game winning streak. They are going to hand Inverson and his teams their behinds. AI is still one of the best players in the game today, but to be honest, when he isn't on the court, the team is horrible. Detriot big men (the Wallaces) will give it to them. Hamilton, Prince, Billups....this will be a quick series..a sweep. Boston vs. Indiana: This one is kinda hard for me. I think that Indiana can come out with the win for the series just because they have good young players who have a lot of heart (and hot heads). Boston is a good team...they haven't been this good since 2001-2002. I think this will be an entertaining series. I don't think that Reggie Miller will let his team go out in the first round on his final year. Washington vs. Chicago: This is going to be the best series of this round. I think that Chicago has come up from a long drought (since 98 ). The wizards have been doing the dam thing but so has chicago. Their defense is one of the best in the east. I think this is going to be a series that will go up to game 7. MY WEST PREDICTIONS: Phoenix vs. Memphis: This is going to be a sweep. The Suns have a fast paced game and I don't think that Memphis can handle it. This will be one of the most boring series because it will be a blow out. The only way this will be something to watch is if Nash gets hurts (God forbid). He is the reason why the team has done so well this season anyways. San Antonio vs. Denver: Denver is a good team. They won't be able to beat the Spurs because they have players that are stepping up even when Duncan isn't around. Ginobili, Parker, Horry...this won't be a sweep, but the Spurs will win. Sacramento vs. Seattle: Sacramento is my team, BUT I don't see them beating Seattle. Sacramento doesn't have Peja, but Bibby will be holding them down and so will Mobley, but I just don't see them going away with the win. Dallas vs. Houston: I see this as being one of the best series in the first round. Houston has pick themselves up and have won the last 7 games. T-Mac (my favorite player) brings out the best in his entire team. He has players around that is willing to help out as best they can. I think that Dirk and Finley will work hard to try and spoil Houston's run. I think that T-Mac and Ming will find a way to finally win a first round series.

Well as we can see, Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Finals has come and gone. To me there were no suprises. Anybody with a half a brain could see that Miami was playing possum with Shaq. There was nothing wrong with him. Also, the Pistons prevailed. They used a strategy similar to last year and came with a similar result. Let Shaq do his damage and control everybody else. If it wasn't for Eddie Jones, the Heat wouldn't have made it beyond 70 points. Give it up for Detroit. They are the truth, just like last year. I don't even want to hear the nonsense about the Heat not being prepared, they've played the fewest games of any remaining team so they've had more than enough time to prepare. I say Detroit in 6 and that's being generous to the Heat faithful.

Detroit vs. Heat (1-1) This series is probaly goin to game 7. But if the heat win the next game, I think it might end sooner than that. My boy d wade dropped 40 on detriot. And the track record shows if d wade can't be stopped it's over. When D wade is playin at is top notch game everybody around him is gonna be effected. Just look at game 1 when wade was forcin shots and just basically gettin handled by that D. His scoring numbers were horrible, likewise with the people around him excluding eddie jones who was basically allowed to put up most of his points. Then look at game 2 when d wade was back with his patient game. His numbers were identical to all the numbers he's been puttin up during the post season. And as we look at his supporting cast, theirs were too. Shaq still isn't at 100%. I think that he's around 85-90 tho. But bottom line if detroit can't stop wade that's gonna reflect on the numbers of the entire heat team, besides shaq.

These detroits cats crack me up  I understand tho, I had the same hope w/ chicago. I can't say anything to change your mind so I hope you I mean fair well with whatever the results are. No riots.

Now its 2-1, Miami in the lead, Eastern Conference personally I want Miami to take this since its been a LONG TIME SINCE A DEEP SOUTHERN TEAM has taken the finals........and plus my guy is from Detroit so you can imagine what is going on right now with us lol....anyways the game tonight.....im sorry Miami's chemistry is on point, they just play so good as a team, Jones is always WONDERFUL with the three-pointers, Shaq my man was good with the free throws and blocking, Mourning on point, loyal to the team and i think underrated with his teamwork skills and how he'll just attack a person trying to make a layup...just FIERRCCE, and my man Wade... ...well we've already discussed Wade, the team played so well together it wasnt all about a few star players but the team working together, which is rare for ANY NBA team... its like in the final 3 minutes Detroit just fell apart, and they were coming up in the lead 4th quarter, plus the amount of fouls they racked up didnt help either.....i guess they just got too cocky or panicked...i dont know....but thanks Miami for keeping your head on your shoulders tonight and letting Detroit self-destruct...use that spirit to go to game 3 , tuesday but did anyone see that play when hamilton knocked over wade, and wade seemed to be a bit hurt when he went to the free-throw line during the last seconds......but yall imma bit worried........*praying and getting holy water out*

detroit had that game last night. they were up by 5 with 8 minutes left. wade was already benched with 5 fouls. then they just got crazy. all they had to do was continue to play defense and stay calm. 6 straight free throw ponits from shaq? come on now. they need to calm their little **** down and they'll be alright. miami didnt win that game. detroit lost that game. we comin back tho. detroit game 6.
