Common's "Be" Album Posted on 05-04-2005

yea I didn't know he went to FAMU until I read it on the uncf website, there are a whole lot of entertainers that I didn't know about like Toni Braxton(Morgan State) Erykah Badu(Grambling)Brian Mcknight(Oakwood) Yolanda Adams(Tennessee State). But back to Common some guys at my lunch table said that they heard it's supposed to be the best hip hop album of the year.

YEA the hell RIGHT! Thats that music you but for a dollar at the corner chicken joint... MOVING ON..
nah i dont buy it i wish i would but its real common is not he talk about stupid stuff im not givin common none of my money he aint real
NOW that was the most BACKWARDS statement I have ever heard... But thank God we are all different, right?
yeah that was real backwards... :???: i'll bump some Common now, he speaks on REAL issues in today's world... and he workin with Kanye too, which means he'll sell more... to say the man ain't real is a load of Sh*t... and Mike Jones is real? fucc outta here...
Backwards? Hell I STILL dont know what he said. Can we get a period, comma, or something...but Im from SC and I'll throw some Common on in a minute...so its definitely not, "in the south we dont get down like that." Im from the South and I definitely get down with Common.
yall aint real eitha
So in your opinion you aren't real if you are in the south and care to listen to music that isn't downgrading our race as a whole, that the rappers actually PRONOUNCE their words, and that they speak on issues of REALITY! That my friend is what you call Bull Sh*t! Why would you rather listen to a album where the man doesn't even speak clearly? He mumbles his words and uses the words N*gga and B*tch profusly(sp)? You are truly living in the ignorance of the South. The last time I listened to a CD in Mike Jones' genre was in the 6th grade. I thought better of myself than to fill my hears and head up with foolishness like that. You really need to get off that high horse and realize that there are more rappers than Mike Jones and others like him. There are others who speak about what's going on in Iraq, **** in South Africa, **** messing up their neighborhoods. You need to put some thought into it, and give other rappers a try.
thas not what rap is about........rap is about chillin, clubbin, trappin, whateva not about saving the world.........its not about race .......it is about culture.........i listen to music that represents me and that i can identify with

What dictionary did you find that "definition" of rap in?

Ok well I guess we expect something different when it comes to music. SMH Poor thing. :???: Mike Jones' music is just not mind stimulating enough for me.... Its predictable... GREAT for the club, but definitely not to listen to on a daily basis.
It's just entertainment. A lot of his music is speaking from personal experience though. Mike Jones' is not played a lot in clubs, ironically, unless he has a club ****. **I love Nas cause of his political views, Afrocentricism, & "uplifting" music that I agree with, but then he turns around has beef with another brotha. If I'm not mistaken, Common had beef as well.

Common may have had playful beef maybe, but NEVER anything serious! Common is one of the shapers of hip hop, and has longevity. Mike Jones, on the otherhand, is just a fad and is only appealing to the masses right now because his music is something new. But give White America a lil while and watch what happens to Mike Jones.... The same thing that has happened to Cash Money, G-Unit, No Limit, Smiles and Southstar, Baby Bash, and Eamon, and SEVERAL other artists.... They become watered down, lose their luster, and slowly America (im not saying the south will) loses interest... You have to have SUBSTANCE to last. Thats a given. And rabbit, when did this turn into an argument? Comparing Common and Mike Jones is like comparing APPLES and ORANGES.

That's a shame its more about how famous someone is instead of if they are still making music. Shouldn't matter if artist are not as famous. G-Unit, Cash Money, No Limit still make music and money. Mike Jones been making music for years () and still will without the nationwide (im not saying just the south) fame. I'm not even a huge fan of Mike Jones, like you are to Common, but he has substance to some while he doesn't to others. Stop making this a competition and let people like what they like. You don't have to like it and that's cool. That's what makes the world go 'round. Nobody said Common was whack.

When did I give you permission to speak? Shut the f*ck up. Go back to your room, put a pillow over your face and die.
