....aiight, so I see people starting free posts all the time, I figure I can do it too. Only twist is, if you gon' post something......let it be intellectual (i.e nothing about a party, grad nite, or shout-outs) something tells me this post is gon' die quickly....... oh well, i gave it a shot!

whats the definition of being intellectual...i mean do ya always have to spout some neo-soul, going back to africa, the black race is suffering nonsense??...i mean cant someone just be intellectual and talk about the positives in life while relaxing, sipping lemonade, and dreaming about the possible great future ahead instead of brooding and spouting shoudla, coulda, wouldas about what needs to be done to improve life...the most "intellectual" and caring person I have ever met was my grandmother who would sit on our car porch eating watermelon talking about the greatness of blacks ..she was the most countriest, caring individual and people didnt consider her any type of intellectual because of her accent and social status..yet didnt ramble on like a cornel west who talks about what should be done about the black community yet he doesnt give one cent to the black community, drives off in his brand new lamborghini, and formerly taught african american history to a bunch of snot-nosed white kids in harvard university instead of teaching to black youth in the different neighborhoods who really needs to know their history ... sad a person like that can fill an auditorium, a stadium even, but people wont even take the time to listen and learn about their own personal history from their elders surrounding them maybe because they didnt have the means and abilities to get the proper education but have seen and did things that would make many of our current "leaders" (HA LEADERS) shudder like lil babies with that said im gonna go like Prince the musical genius and talk about the greatness of life "purple rain-cinnamon girllll" style
i feel you, but stroking our racial ego isnt going to fix things either! i'd rather identify the problems and dedicate some time to coming up with solutions...then again, thats just my opinion. we do focus on the problems a lot though!

first and foremost, I have to address THEONE......i mean what u had to say was tight, but did you have to say it like 4 times?? I don't think so. And to HU_Queen, I say this an intellectual is one who is Endowed with intellect; having the power of understanding; having capacity for the higher forms of knowledge or thought; characterized by intelligence or mental capacity; as, an intellectual person. Now of course being intellectual doesn't mean book smarts, or even knowing your history, it is all about wisdom. Getting the point where you can think beyond what they want you to think. As for your grandmother, I can feel you because my grandmother is the same way. I learned my bad english from her, but I also learned how to remain faithful in times when everything is going arye. ( i thin that's how you spell it) This post is not a post to talk about shoulda, coulda, wouldas, but it is a free post, and people are just speaking their minds. And if we wanna talk neo-soul and going back to Africa, I don't see why that's a problem. And to what you said about "sipping lemonade and dreaming about the future" I find that is one of the most important problems us black folk have. WE NEED TO WAKE THE F*UCK UP!!!! Don't get mad at me, I'm just speakin' my mind. I ain't tyrna provoke you or anything like that. We all intelligent people here.....no need to get ig'nant.

I'm checking out this site (have to get used to the newness) and I notice how many people respond to the posts on the Education Issues thread. Then, I go to other threads and notice a huge difference. I always thought it was disturbing how many people would be quick to respond to the previous "Love and Relationship" thread compared to the "Education Issues" thread. I find it even more disturbing that I am probably guilty of this as well. How many people will repond to this post compared to the posts dedicated to our favorite ghetto foods? I know this site is for entertainment purposes, but don't people find it entertaining to discuss and debate intellectual thoughts anymore?

But like the "great" (yea the f*uck right) Reverend Jesse Jackson says: KEEP HOPE ALIVE!!!

The other day I was listening to the Wendy Williams Show on the radio and some lady asked for advice. She wanted to know how she (a black woman) can attract a "Eurocentric" Black man :? WTF is a Eurocentric Black man anyway......sounds like an oxymoron to me! The sad part is that I've heard other black women say things like this. I even know some Black women who'd rather be with white men all together. I just don't get it. I'll come back with my comments later.....

well, i think it has to do with the overwelming majority of our so-called brothas dating white, hispanic, etc. women. The way I see it, sistah's is like dayum, we still holdin' on to men that don't wanna be held on to, so they go outside and see what all the fuss is about. If we keep this up, there will be a picture of a black family in a museum.....cuz we will be extint!!

I don't know about slim or marta, but innocence has a life and has been busy looking and, by the way, getting a job working at a major corporation in an economy where jobs supposedly doesn't exist. Thanks Mr. Bush. Also, just because I have more important things to do it doesn't mean that my views have changed. I believe the war is even more justified now and needs to be won at all costs. It is amazing to me how the majority of blacks are so blind to the fact that these people (arab extremists) want to **** us. They want to **** every single one of us, including American minorities, because we don't believe in Islam. They want to destroy Israel and they want to destroy us. They **** their own people in the name of god and they just cut off an innocent jewish-american's head just because the opportunity to do it and blame it on someone else presented itself. Oh yeah, you might think that I am from some rich community that isn't affected by the war, but I am from the same community as lil_mama 254. The same Ft. Hood, Tx which is the largest military base in the free world. People who I just graduated with are going over there. Parents who kids I have been friends with for years are over there. My cousin is in Fallujah fighting right now because he doesn't want his daughter to grow up in a world full of ****. I wasn't born in africa and I have no allegience to it. Half of those black people in africa would **** me if they have the chance. They slaughter my brothers and sisters in **** just because of their faith. I've answered all of these questions in previous posts. Also, just because you speak the loudest doesn't mean you are right. I can see that you still suffer from fallous thinking that has held the black community down for so long although yours isn't as bad as most. Oh, by the way, if you respond and I don't in a couple of days or weeks, it doesn't mean that I have changed my views or have went into hiding because I was wrong. It just means that I have more important things to do with my time.
