it seems kind of twisted to me that we are not allowed to have refridgerators in our dorms but we are allowed to have cable. So basically food isn't important but that new HBO special really isn't! If anyone knows why they have this screwed up rule then please let me know. Thanx.
.... :???:
Anyway... just because you have a new dorm director doesn't mean she'll be lenient. I remember last summer all we kept hearing is that Kennedy could do whatever we wanted because our dorm director was new and yadda yadda ya. The new dorm director was more of a stickler for the rules than anyone else because of the fact that she was new! She was very nice, but everything had to be done by the book because she really didn't know how to handle us any other way. So it could backfire, especially if you guys get in trouble even once.
Refrigerators draw a lot more power than regular appliances. Most of the freshman dorms were built in the 1950s when most students had few electronics other than a radio and an alarm clock.
If the circuits get overloaded, it will knock out power to a large section of the building. Any upperclassman who lived on campus can testify to this.
Use an electric cooler, or try to get a doctor's note (or store your food with a friend who has one). The dorm directors usually inspect rooms from time to time, so if you have one and you're not supposed to, you're probably gonna lose it. Holla!
i will go CRAZY ... crazier... if i can't have my george forman grill up at hampton! and i need a refridgerator to store my milk in! i have late night milk cravings that will be impossible to satisfy without a car or a refridgerator
