I go to the Nappturality board and other Napptural websites as well. But why don't we have our own little thread? I get overwhelmed sometimes going there cause I feel like I need to read every posts and I know I can't do that.

Well i got my very first perm my 7th grade year...my mother put it in and she was scared to death she was gonna take all my hair out-but she didnt even put in enough perm, so my hair wasnt really all that straight. Soo when it was time to get another perm...i would go to my mother's friends shop-and she hooked me up..lol. But at the time i wasnt taking care of my hair like i should have been so my mom stopped putting perms in my hair all together. My hair was LONG-and im not exagerating....my hair was all the way down my back, but after the perm it started breaking off.
I grew my perm out 8th grade year (by wearing braids mostly and just getting my hair straightened)-and all during High School i didnt have a perm in my hair....but u could never tell because i always got my hair pressed and it looked just like a perm. The day before I graduated i got a perm put in because i was so tired of my hair being pressed. I got perms from summer 03-to summer 04. It has been a year since i have had a perm because my hair was breaking off again, so now im just getting braids and letting my hair grow back.
Hmm...I have no serious regime.....I've never had a perm and don't intend to ever get one really.
I typically let others handle it cuz my hair is a task and a half...and honestly, I lack the patience to deal with it.
Anyway, I usually wear my hair twisted or cornrowed with my hair. When I need a break I'll get extension braids, twists, locks, or something.
I'll admit, I have my moments and I'll get my hair pressed but really I find it to more complicated than I need.
And there's my .02 worth....
I am a happy happy happy transitioner. I was tough at first with just doing roller sets to blend the newgrowth but now have a **** twist routine. I have been transitioning since December 8, 2004. I plan on cutting it next year because I would like alot of length  . I wash my **** twists weekly with black soap mixed with water (which is execellent) and moisturize with just braid sprays. The key is to not use heavy artifical products; they just don't work! I cut off a few relaxed ends in the back and my natural hair is so coily soft and beautiful. I can't wait for a full head of natural Hair!!!!!!! :smt026
