boston, MA
you know i've never seen a light skinned Black girl with long hair it was always weave akatude is the stereotypical aka only i'm not sure if that's her hair but anyways now anyone who is into reading should read some old book that actually documented aka's and their color struck inutations they WERE actually color struck and if you were not light enough you didn't get in i thought that was interesting because a myth came out to be TRUE of course it's different NOW but to KNOW that your org WAS discriminatory like that has to make u feel bad poor aka's

I would say that all orgs do have something in their past that they aren't proud of. So why jus target one org and why focus on something from the past. They (the orgs) learned from their past and the mistakes in it and have moved on to do bigger and better things. Jus let it die and bury it in the ground adn let it be worm food. It's finished. On a side note: Damn, CP is gettin the most of these backlashes. Must be difficult to be CP at this time. 8)

Correct, this crap isn't indigenous to anyone. We make judgemental biases everyday, no reason they shouldn't have 80 yeas ago.

All Black Greek Letter Organizations had strict color requirements during the early years so why are you only calling out Alpha Kappa Alpha?
show me a credible source or expand on that
It is written in books and I can definitely get back to you on that just give me some time.
Not the truth..."ALL Black Greek Letter Organizations had strict color requirements..." - SGRho has never had such a "color requirement". Our major stress has always been on Education, specifically scholarly work.

And more importantly, it doesn't define who or what I am or what sorority I choose to pledge! IT IS POSSIBLE! AND ABOUT THE LIGHT SKINNED THING WHY BASH PEOPLE IN THE PAST WHO HELD THAT BELEIF ....ALOT OF BLACK PEOPLE STILL FEED INTO THE INGNORANCE OF LIGHT SKINNED IS BETTER TODAY. =D> Thank you sistah! Light/long does not equal better but some people still believe it today! BLACK IS STORNG AND BEAUTIFUL LETS APPRECIATE BEING PART OF ONE THE MOST DIVERSE, TALENTED, RICH IN HISTORY, MOST IMTIMIDATING RACES ON EARTH! WE HAVE ALL CONTRIBUTED TO "THE LIGHT BRIGHT TRUTH'' LET IGNORANCE BE GONE AND STAY GONE I disagree, we need to revisit and learn our history OFTEN. It is because we forget or don't know our past that we continue to carry this baggage around today. Also, not everyone has contributed to this "light bright truth". Organizationally speaking Sigma has never contributed to this ridiculous notion of light somehow equaling better. My grandmother however (still living) has contributed to this **** UNtruth and I confront and challenge her on it at every turn and remind her of our history. DO AWAY WITH THE TRAGIC MULATOO EFFECT (READ A BOOK IF YOU DON'T KNOW) HOLLA BACK
Well read sistah over here and I absolutely :x the "tragic mulatto" idea/condition.
