^^^Yea yea. Not to discourage helping the underprivileged, but I think it royally **** that poor people get all the help. No offense, but they are eligible for grants plus most scholarships. It is getting depressing; we're not rich. Why can't they see that?

****...I say the same thing all of the time...I got so **** when I found out that we only qualify for some damn loans...thank God that I got this scholarship from Skegee...because my **** would be at UGA if I didn't...my parents make good money but college is HELLA expensive...they'd be living VERY meagerly if they had to foot the entire bill... I think that if I take the time to apply for a scholarship and meet the academic criteria then I should be eligible just like everyone else...REGARDLESS of financial need.... but I digress...*sigh*...because by me saying this a white person could say the same about affirmative action...

No Scholarship News Yet. I was selected for the second phase of the Gates Millenium Scholarship Program. Only one problem, I am not eligible for a Federal Pell Grant so I am screwed.
that's why I didn't even apply for Gates lol...I feel sorry for those who went through that process and found out at the end that they didn't qualify...
How about this: I'm Pell eligible, GPA 3.6, ACT 27, had all my stuff in on time. MY TEACHER FORGOT TO FILL OUT HIS PART!!! I know I could have gotten something!! That's some terrible crap. He felt hella bad, but that's not gonna put money in my college fund. I forgave him though and haven't been rude. I have faith that I'm gettin a scholarship...but if I don't you'll know...

I am sorry your teacher forgot to do his part. They are busy people [both my parents are teachers], but it is still kinda messed up. Good luck with the other scholarships you applied to. I think I am just going to have to pay the 30,000 a year to attend Spelman. I have had no luck in scholarships and i have applied to 17 of them!. Frustration is not the word to describe how I am feeling. But God says, if I have faith the size of a mustard seed.....
