I just got into Howard last week and I wanted to know if there is any housing available for incoming male freshmans. I know that the males have 2 dorms Drew and Carver. Does anyone know if they are full.
might as well post this in two topics.
i got the annex. anybody got info on that besides what's in the brochure?
It's one of the best dorms on campus, but it just loses points for creatures and for the lazy and brainless mindset that it can drive one into with a cafe and plasma screens and such. In short, if I wasn't a male, I would live there....Actually, I would still live there if they allowed me to.

The annex like he said above is the best dorm at Howard. It has its own cafeteria, a/c, store, and no community bathrooms. Alot of people that don't stay in the annex think that those girls aren't social, but it all depends on the person. I know I had a ball. There are the occassional flooding problems tho.

the annex is not the best dorm on campus honey.
i'm guessing there's no need to enlighten us on which one is the best.

Aside from the Towers I would say that Cook and the Annex are the best. Some people would say Meridian though, but it all depends on what type of atmosphere a person enjoys the most. Don't think too glorious though, the best housing will still bring a lot of complaints. That's why I don't plan on being on campus every year.
Honestly, I've lived in a nice lil array of dorms so far at HU, and each has had it's advantages & disadvantages. Freshman year it was Wheatley in the quad, soph. year it was the annex, and this past year was the east towers. Even tho Wheatley had us burnin up, i loved the social atmosphere. As far as maintenance, the annex would be one of the best, HOWEVER, when I was there we had a serious issue with mice. The east towers is a dorm that all dream and aspire to get to lol...but only becuz it's 24 hours visitation. Unless you're one to have alot of bootycalls & visitors, that's about all it's good for lol.
A dorm is really just whatever you make of it.
K... I know I'm late with this but.......
DONT TRIP!! The housing you were assigned isnt necessarily what you get. I advise just get there EARLY to make sure u get the BEST of what is available.
I was assigned to Wheatley my freshman year.... they put me in FRAZIER. I loved my experience but just lettin yall know... that an assignment in the QUAD means they can put u in either of the 5 dorms...
At least thats what I think
