I can't imagine what would make a girl join an auxilary organization and I'm glad that we don't have those at Howard. I can imagine the uproar. If there is someone on this board who is in one of these organizations, I hope that they would address what drew them to this org.

I'll tell you what being a "Little Sister", "Sweetheart" "Kitten" and an "Angel" meant for me back in my day.
For one, you could back then, be involved with any all of the black frats if you wanted to. No one cared...you did you aiight? All of them are SO different you got to get to learn, grow and love each for what they bring to the campus...or the world.
I will say that the Sigma Sweethearts were treated with high regard and mutual respect. I still converse with them Sigma Men.
As a Kappa Kitten I was treated like a "piece". They had SO many girls lined up to take my place if I did not want to be a "piece" so I let them other college "ho's" have at it. Now, that was back then. I really wanted to be a Kitten cause my daddy is a pretty high ranking Kappa. My mom was a Kitten. Things just were not like back in her day.
Being a Little Sister for another Frat was nuthin but pure slavery. You "had" to cook for them, do they homework, drive them around, hold parties, sleep with them and so on and so on...That ended on day 5 for me.
I am an Alpha Angel for life cause my darling husband and son, both ALpha's, have deemed me so and they treat me like royalty.
The word today is about them same...sometimes worse cause by and large females and males have low self esteem and a real poor sense of self so they let ill chit go down...

The Kappa Sweetheart/Diamon whatever u want to call them sign is almost like the SGRho sign...ur middle finger touching your thumb and the rest sticking up.
I have no IDEA what the purpose of those orgs. are. The Kappa's on my campus have sweethearts and I don't care for them too much. From what I hear they've had a "process" I've seen a lot of/and her them talk about taking wood and all of that.
They didn't have a probate show but when the Kappa's came out and the sweethearts was online still they had to be on their knee's the entire time the Kappa's probated...what a way to start out huh.
But yeh they pretty much believe they are greek..They don't associate w/the female orgs. too much and I constantly hear them calling a member of another fraternity "club.." and all that other stuff..and the fraternity member quickly telling them off...

I heard that they are the official sisters to them. I could be wrong, but I did get the info from an Iota.
Yea their aux group is nationally recognized by their org as Iota Sweethearts. They have tons of them here at Morgan especially since its the Alpha chapter.

you know I actually baleev many ppl who want to join or have joined them have no/lost sight of their purpose.
I also baleev its become too "friendly", in a sense that its like "oh he/she is my dawg so he/she good" as opposed to "he/she is worthy, exceeds all the criteria, and has good character"....Ive seen many who were definitely overqualified get overlooked for someone who barely met the criteria but was tight with someone in the org.
I am a member of KKI, I join the organization because of service and the service image that my organization has on my yard. Yes we are Kappa sweets but we are also our own organization , a national service orginazation. In my organization we have AKA's , DELTA's, ZETAS who are also sweets. we get along with our SGRHOS , they are very sweet. I don't agree with sweets doing other organizations stuff , but the whole shimmy thing we do do because we are originated off of KAPPA ALPHA PSI, no we do not sleep with the boys to get in the organization , we have older sweets over our process.our requirements to get in are the same as other orgs, so you can't just become a sweet. But at the end it is all about service, if a person has a problem with someone who wants to better their community then that's something personal I guess. But I love all organizations and respect everyone for what they do , at my school we had a cancer walk, we are working on getting our own street for street clean up, we are adopting a family for Christmas , we are having a black history forum in feb, in may we are doing something for lupes awareness month
