Community Health Resources (CHR) is the most comprehensive, nonprofit behavioral healthcare provider in Connecticut, offering a broad range of services for people of all ages whose lives have been touched by depression, anxiety, substance use disorders, trauma, homelessness, and more.
Founded in 1966, CHR has grown through the years to meet the needs of the communities we serve. Today, programs range from outpatient, intensive outpatient, and school-based therapy to highly intensive community-based and residential mental health and substance use treatment programs. We are licensed by the state and accredited both by The Joint Commission and the National Commission on Correctional Health Care, reflecting our work to provide life-saving care for opioid use disorders into CT prisons and jails.
Of note, CHR was the first nonprofit in CT to meet all the rigorous federal criteria as a Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic (CCBHC) and has been named among the Top Workplaces in CT for 11 years straight!
The lifeblood of CHR’s excellence is our workforce of more than 800 professionals, including therapists, licensed clinical social workers, case managers, psychiatrists, administrators, and more.
There are many great reasons to bring your skills and talents to CHR! We’ve repeatedly been named a Top Workplace among large employers in CT, including special recognition for providing work-life balance, training, and mission-driven work.
CHR offers a welcoming and supportive workplace where your voice is heard, your wellness is a priority, and your success matters. CHR offers great benefits and opportunities for mentorship and professional growth. We also offer excellent salary and benefits packages, along with sign-on bonuses for some positions and salary differentials for bilingual staff.
