Seeking a key individual to join the team responsible for developing a huge decommissioned military facility into a cutting-edge research and development campus in Mountain View, CA. This exciting project features opportunities to work on mission critical facilities at an iconic location in Silicon Valley. This position will require the management of two or more projects. The first project is a utility infrastructure project and the second project is a new 195,000 SF ground-up building. \
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The Project Manager for this position will be responsible for managing two or more projects. The first project is for the management of a critical site utility project. The project will include work within an active airfield. The desired candidate for this project will have proven experience managing site utility infrastructure including high voltage electrical infrastructure and communications systems with air traffic control. Work within airfields and FAA experience is a plus.
The second project is for the management of a new ground-up multi story building, which is expected to be complete by end of Q1 2022. There will be multiple facilities within this building that will support the operation of the airfield. This includes a fire department, vehicle maintenance, airfield operations and lounge space on the first floor, and the upper floors will be office space. The desired candidate will have experience managing the construction of new airfield ground-up support buildings.
The Project Manager will supervise multiple consultants and contractors performing investigation, design development, coordination with multiple on-site agencies and organizations, permitting, construction and commissioning.
The candidate will be joining a fun, hard-working team of 10 consisting of project managers, a project controls manager, an environmental planner, a project coordinator, and a dedicated construction field representative. The ideal candidate will have the following skills, experience and attributes:
5+ years of steadily increasing professional experience in construction project management.
A great team player who brings out the best in teammates and keeps diverse stakeholders working together toward project objectives.
Expertise in planning, organizing and executing design and construction of large facilities with a project value over $50 million.
Experience working on airfield facilities preferred.
Background in Architecture or Construction Management required.
Construction management, project management, or AIA licensure highly desirable.
Proven track record as a project manager with ability to provide a mix of references from past supervisors and clients
Must have proven experience dealing with both site development involving site utilities and building construction projects.
Excellent verbal communication skills in both small and large groups
Effective written communication skills.
Demonstrated skill in effectively supervising design consultants and contractors.
Expertise in construction projects involving environmental contamination preferred.
Experience in successfully navigating multiple-agency permit approval processes.
Highly efficient and detail-oriented with excellent documentation and organizational skills.
Proficient in scheduling software such as Microsoft Project or SmartSheets
Understanding of all general building components including site elements, foundations, building core & shell, MEP, and T.I.s
Understanding of project budgets and cost management, able to determine forecasts in required costs, maintaining project invoicing and billings and able to generate high-level (ROM) estimates on design and construction scopes of work.
Understanding and experience with contract administration
Experience processing or coordinating construction submittals and RFI’s
Experience working with federal agencies such as the EPA, FAA, NASA, etc.
Works with a sense of urgency
Is a self-motivated individual with a “can do” attitude
