Supervisory IT Specialist

To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement.

To qualify for the Supervisory IT Specialist position you must have IT related experience that demonstrates possession of each of the four required competencies related to: 1) Attention to Detail - Evaluate procedures and methods for determining risks, vulnerability; 2) Customer Service - Serve as a technical advisor on program effectiveness, efficiency, policy, and direction; 3) Oral Communication - Maintain contact with industry stakeholders; 4) Problem Solving - Make recommendations to resolve shortfalls in system security features and practices.

In addition to meeting the above competencies, applicants must possess at least one year (52 weeks) of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 level in the Federal service that demonstrates a mastery of and skill in applying (1) Program and project management theories, concepts and methods; (2) Interrelationships of multiple IT disciplines; (3) Modeling and simulation tools; (4) The enterprise IT architecture; (5) New program and project management developments sufficient to generate best practices for future IT projects; (6) Evaluating and verifying impacts on current and planned enterprise IT projects; and (7) The ability to lead or supervise.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religions; spiritual; community; student; social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
