Senior Financial Systems Analyst
JOB SUMMARY  

Responsible for assisting the Global FP&A with data validation between financial systems and provide support to both systems and FP&A teams.  Seeking a high-quality analyst who can work independently and contribute by offering his/her own ideas to the team.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Facilitates bottom-up and top-down operating budget and forecast development.  Coordinates budget through communication with budget preparers.
 
  • Help maintain Cognos TM1 models, databases, and reports.  Cognos TM1 is a software package utilized company-wide for planning.  Building of models, databases, and reports does not require programming skills, but does require strong computer skills.
  • Validate data in TM1 against PeopleSoft and HFM.  Research reconciling differences and recommend solutions.
 
  • Provides support to Finance Managers on ad hoc analysis.
 
  • Coordinate preload data collection from various groups.
  • Assists with streamlining planning processes globally. 
 
  • Develops and writes procedure manuals, and budget reference manuals.


SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES  

No formal supervisory responsibilities in this position. Provides informal assistance such as technical guidance, and/or training to coworkers. May lead project teams and/or plan, and supervise assignments of lower level employees.
QUALIFICATIONS  
 
  • Communication Skills- Ability to read, analyze and interpret financial reports.  Ability to respond to inquiries or complaints from internal customers or management.  Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals.  Ability to effectively present information to and respond to questions from groups of managers or other internal customers.
 
  • Mathematical Skills - Ability to work with and apply mathematical concepts.
 
  • Reasoning Ability - Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.  Ability to interpret an extensive variety of instructions in written or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
 
  • Other Skills and Abilities - Computer literate.  Very strong or advanced knowledge of spreadsheet software, preferably Excel.  Ability to work with financial systems.  Knowledge of real estate service industry and terminology helpful.


    EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE  

    Four-year college degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, MIS or related field required. A minimum of six years experience in real estate, accounting or financial systems required. Demonstrated expert knowledge of software related to real estate accounting and/or financial management systems.

    CERTIFICATES and/or LICENSES  

    Lean Six Sigma Green Belt Training preferred.

    COMMUNICATION SKILLS  

    Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong organizational and analytical skills. Ability to provide efficient, timely, reliable and courteous service to customers. Ability to effectively present information. Ability to effectively respond to highly complex inquiries or requests, and successfully convey and explain system and accounting issues to non-system users.

    FINANCIAL KNOWLEDGE  

    Requires intermediate knowledge of financial terms and principles. Ability to calculate intermediate figures such as percentages, discounts, and/or commissions. Conducts basic financial analysis.

    REASONING ABILITY  

    Ability to comprehend, analyze, and interpret complex documents. Ability to comprehend, analyze, and solve complex problems in standard and non-standard situations involving several options. Requires advanced analytical and quantitative skills.

    OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES  

    Advanced knowledge of computer software and hardware (i.e. Microsoft Office Suite Products). Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, lookups, macros and formulas; programming and SQL experience. Requires a high level of commitment to customer service. Must work well under pressure with proactive approach to routine and non-routine occurrences. Advanced organizational skills, attention to detail, and openness to new ideas and procedures.

    SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITY  

    Decisions made with thorough understanding of procedures, company policies, and business practices to achieve general results and deadlines. Resolves escalated questions and problems within the department. Develops, recommends, and implements functional operational programs and procedures. Responsible for setting work unit and/or project deadlines. Errors in judgment may cause short-term impact to department. Works independently.
