The University of Notre Dame (ND.jobs) is accepting applications for a VP of UR, Advisor.

The Advisor to the Vice President for University Relations will advise the VP on all aspects of University Relations' strategic operations. Execution of these responsibilities involves a variety of roles, including managing special projects, recommending strategic activities, and serving as a liaison to various academic and administrative units. The Advisor will routinely serve as a representative of the Vice President on a variety of committees and initiatives, consulting on issues such as the strategic advancement of the division, communication with internal and external constituents, and management of strategic University relationships.
Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage special projects, including the preparation of presentations to outside consortiums and peers in higher education. The advisor also plays a critical role in coordinating and managing the progress of Strategic Enhancement Areas as directed by the Office of the President, along with the Strategic Plan of the division. Additionally, this individual will assume project management responsibility for initiatives highly important to the University and with the utmost degree of confidentiality.

  • Draft and execute correspondence for the Vice President, including sensitive responses to trustees, council members, longstanding benefactors and development prospects. The senior advisor also coordinates trustee materials and communication, often times related to sensitive University events or decisions and are high in volume and demand polished and timely reponses.

  • Advise on strategic and tactical activities, including visits with trustees, donors, and prospective benefactors. Consistently provides oversight and input on Vice President's allocation of time and effort, ensuring he/she maximizes effectiveness and efficiency.

  • Serve as a liaison to other academic and administrative units. Responsibilities range from collaborating with Academic Advancement Officers and personnel in the academy to identify areas of interest for potential donors and coordinating visits with Deans and Directors for guests of the Vice President.

  • Coordinate and disseminate crisis communication from the Vice President to Notre Dame's most important constituencies, including its most generous contributors. The advisor exhibits the highest level of confidentiality, given he/she's involvement with sensitive matters relative to personnel and impending University developments and decisions.

  • High-touch constituency service, including hosting and entertaining trustees, significant donors, potential benefactors, and guests of the Vice President.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Minimum of a Bachelors Degree is required. Masters degree preferred. Field of study should be in a finance, management, marketing, or economics field.
  • 5 to 6 years of experience
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Computer application; analytical; interpersonal and communication; writing
