The IDEA Center is seeking an individual to be responsible for the sourcing and initial evaluation of all alumni and community startup concepts. This position enables The IDEA Center to extend its services beyond faculty and students to support our alumni and to enhance our local entrepreneurial ecosystem.
Sourcing startup concepts from alumni and community entrepreneurs represents a new and exciting model of commercialization not just for The University of Notre Dame but for startup models in general. Few university venture builders take on the task of sourcing and evaluating concepts from such a varied and distributed population as our alumni and local community. Individuals in this role must be comfortable with overseeing teams, collaborating with colleagues and developing strategies to ensure that The IDEA Center's Commercialization Engine is developing the most promising startups from this network. The Alumni and Community Risk Assessment Manager is responsible for recruiting, coaching and managing a team of analysts consisting of approximately 5 to 10 undergrad and or grad students at one time. Providing clear directions and results of this research to the Risk Assessment Director, weekly, for the purpose of moving technology to the next level and/or removing from system. Will be required to use Asana, project management tool, Inteum, and other research data bases for distributing information and compiling reports. Building and networking a team of advisers consisting of community and alumni industry leaders who can support the analysis of these start-up concepts. Developing strategies to connect and acquire the most promising start-up concepts from our local and alumni entrepreneurs. Ability to communicate while being effective and sensitive to a wide variety of stake holders.

Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelors degree (4 years) and 6 to 12 months experience.
