Job Description
Program Support Clerk

As a Program Support Clerk in Medical Administration Service, (MAS) your duties may include the following:

  • Performing administrative and miscellaneous clerical duties, compiling employees' time and production records, using calculator or computer, review timesheets, work charts, time charts for completeness, establish and maintain effective working relationships with management, nursing and administrative staff as well as other supporting services within MAS.
  • Providing a wide range of administrative office support
  • Serve as the primary point of contact to work closely with supervisors and managers to ensure that the six-part folders are created for new employees, current for established employees and is organized according to Human Resources guidelines.
  • Incumbent will maintain an orderly and adequate level of supplies by receiving requests for supplies, researching expeditious procurement, places and tracks orders and distributes upon arrival.
  • Incumbent is responsible for the general appearance and safety of office environment and makes appropriate request for maintenance services for furniture, equipment, building housekeeping and security.
  • Incumbent performs work related to the acquisition and/or development of timekeeping information and resources materials to support fiscal timekeeping policies. Incumbent involves interaction with VISTA software and VATAS for input of timecards, equipment and supply request, employee training, in-service training, electronic work orders, electronic telephone directory and mailman.
  • Incumbent computes total time worked by employees, using calculator or computer, post time worked, calculate time work and units produced by piece-work or bonus work employees, verify attendance of workers listed on daily spot sheet, interview employees to discuss hours worked and pay adjustments to be made and be designated pay agent.
  • Incumbent will finalize necessary travel arrangements, provide information to staff and prepare travel vouchers upon return. Incumbent completes all special projects in the support of the timecards, assembles and summarizes data, background information and perform other duties as assigned by Administrative Officer, service line Chief, and Assistant Chief within MAS.

An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials. Note: Time-In-Grade requirements also apply to former Federal employees applying for reinstatement as well as current employees applying for Veterans Employment Opportunities Act of 1998 (VEOA) appointment.
