Job Description
Meeting & Events Supervisor

This position is responsible for overseeing the meeting & events team at an office. Coordinates all amenities and accommodations including site selection, food, transportation, and audio visual equipment. Monitors and controls event budgets and prepare periodic reports on cost. Manages event staff.


Supervises personnel assigned to meeting, events & conference services including establishing work schedules,
assigning tasks, cross-training staff to perform shipping/receiving duties as back-up, and evaluating and
developing performance.

Oversees the operations of the event from start to finish according to requirements, comes up with suggestions to enhance the event's success; prepares budgets and ensure adherence to client requests

Leads promotional activities for the event

Approves all aspects before the day of the event; Ensures event is completed smoothly and step up to resolve any problems that might occur

Allocates resources to maximize efficiencies and meet client needs

Determine and prioritize staff workload and be prepared to make proactive decisions to meet daily business demands

Generates reports to measure productivity and perform analysis. Assists with ad hoc reporting requests.

Performs other duties as assigned.


Provides formal supervision to individual employees within single functional or operational area. Recommends staff recruitment, selection, promotion, advancement, corrective action and termination. Plans and monitors appropriate staffing levels and utilization of labor, including overtime. Prepares and delivers performance appraisal for staff. Mentors and coaches team members to further develop competencies. Leads by example and models behaviors that are consistent with the company's values.

HS Diploma or GED required. Prior event coordination, customer service or other hospitality experience preferred. Minimum of 4 years of meeting and event planning required. BS/BA Degree and supervisory experience preferred. Experience in corporate or conference center management preferred.




Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong organizational and analytical skills. Ability to provide efficient, timely, reliable and courteous service to customers. Ability to effectively present information. Ability to respond effectively to sensitive issues.

Comfortable meeting and engaging with new people.

Warm and engaging demeanor. Ability to assess circumstances, empathize and offer help.


Requires advanced knowledge of financial terms and principles. Ability to calculate intermediate figures such as percentages, discounts, and commissions. Conducts advanced financial analysis.


Ability to comprehend, analyze, and interpret complex documents. Ability to solve problems involving several options in situations. Requires advanced analytical and quantitative skills.


Intermediate skills with Microsoft Office Suite products such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, SharePoint, OneNote, Outlook, etc. Comfortable with and embracing of new technologies and digital tools; such as Apps, databases, financial management, work order management, social networking, cloud technologies, handheld mobile technologies and applications, and communications.. Ability to work in multiple software platforms and learn and retain technical software applications quickly.

Good organizational skills. Must work well under pressure with multiple deadlines, and demonstrate a proactive approach to routine and non-routine occurrences.

Ability to work flexible work schedules based on business need.

May need to be physically able to lift and move 30-40 boxes and operate a two-wheel dolly. Physical ability to assist with document services operations. Able to lift 50 lbs.

Ability to lead and motivate others and to perform associated paperwork.

Strong problem-solving skills. Highly adaptable and flexible.

Ability to work independently with little supervision.


Decisions made with thorough understanding of procedures, company policies, and business practices to achieve general results and deadlines. Responsible for setting work unit and/or project deadlines. Errors in judgment may cause short-term impact to department.


1. Complete at a satisfactory level all required and assigned HSE training
2. Follow all activity policies and procedures, including all HSE related requirements at all times
3. Participate in all HSE related programs & activities as required, including incident investigations, interviews, auditing and assessment, etc.
4. Report any condition which you feel could result in an accident or injury and / or stop work if required

As a Supervisor:
1. While adhering to all HSE requirements established for CBRE employees, supervisors and managers are required to:
a. Provide sufficient distraction free time for employees to complete all required HSE training & support the HSE training program implicitly
b. Investigate and resolve (if possible) all reported unsafe conditions / acts and communicate results back to the affected stakeholders
c. Support stop work authority when it is exercised in good faith
d. Communicate any / all potential workplace hazards and workplace procedures
