Physician (Deputy Chief of Staff - Operations)
To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement, 06/10/2019. Basic Requirements: United States Citizenship: Non-citizens may only be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens in accordance with VA Policy. Degree of doctor of medicine or an equivalent degree resulting from a course of education in medicine or osteopathic medicine. The degree must have been obtained from one of the schools approved by the Department of Veterans Affairs for the year in which the course of study was completed. Current, full and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States, or in the District of Columbia. Completion of residency training, or its equivalent, approved by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs in an accredited core specialty training program leading to eligibility for board certification. Proficiency in spoken and written English. Physical requirements outlined below. Preferred Experience: Previous management or leadership experience as a Section Chief or Associate Chief of Staff in VHA or comparable roles in non-VA Healthcare The candidate must be board certified and meet current maintenance of certification (MOC) requirements. Must hold an Assistant Professor, or higher, appointment or be eligible for a faculty appointment at Saint Louis University School of Medicine or the Washington University School of Medicine. Physical Requirements: the physical requirements of this position include the following tasks which may be performed intermittently: Light lifting of up to 15 pounds, light carrying up to 15 pounds, kneeling (1/2 hour), pushing (1/2 hour), fine manipulation (4 hours), reaching above the shoulder, use of fingers, both hands required, walking (1/2 hour), both legs required. Working closely with others, protracted or irregular hours of work. Operate office equipment.
