Job Description
Electrical Engineer Design Program Manager- Data Center


  • Will manage and lead cross-functional teams responsible for complex new engineering MEP infrastructure product development projects that result in the launch of innovative mechanical and electrical equipment for use in large hyperscale data centers. 

  • Will ensure alignment of product and business goals by developing and driving project plans, managing cross-functional teams, and coordinating activities within the established project timelines and budgets set forth by the managing Technical Program Manager in the Product Area.

  • Leads cross-functional NPD project teams composed of R&D Engineers, Operations, Quality and Safety.

  • Responsible for overall coordination of the team, their activities and day to day management of the project and documents progress on appropriate cadence.

  • Ensures decisions involve the appropriate people and support business and project objectives set forth by the managing Technical Program Manager.

  • Manages project scope and requirements, cost, and develops and drives project schedules.

  • Develops and executes Risk Management Plan and communications plan.

  • Skillfully applies and uses the internal NPD process to deliver products to market. Drives continuous NPD process improvement initiatives.

  • Manages project resources; highlights dynamic issues and manages the activities of internal and external resources in the planning and execution of projects.

  • Solicits assistance from other functional organizations and negotiates for resources as needed. 

  • Supports Business Reviews and any preliminary or interim reviews related to the project through the reporting Technical Program Manager.

  • Supports NPD activities set forth by the managing Technical Program Manager.

Typical duties might include:

  • Tracking and maintenance of all Detailed Design Documentation

    • Design Consultant Submittals

    • Consultant BIM Model

    • Bill of Materials

    • QA Assurance Plan

    • In collaboration with others, publish and distribute the: Installation of Maintenance Manual for MEP infrastructure

    • MEP Equipment Commissioning Plan

    • EHS Compliance

    • Commissioning (Cx) Guide

  • Tracking design schedules and deadlines provide others with reminders of their pending deadlines and deliverable. 

  • Facilitation and Note taking for specific meetings:

    • Electrical and Fire Alarm meetings (APAC + EMEA, may require some early AM calls and evening calls)

    • Chair the meetings and ensure all parties 

    • Assign actions and follow up with action owners and relevant stakeholders

    • Develop the RACI matrix for the ongoing ownership and maintenance of the matrix

    • Develop presentation and training content

  • Other duties assigned


No formal supervisory responsibilities in this position. Provides informal assistance such as technical guidance, and/or training to coworkers. May lead project teams and/or plan, and supervise assignments of lower level employees.

Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) from 4-year college or university. Mechanical or electrical engineering preferred. Architecture, Engineering, Planning, Design Management, etc. 

Minimum four years of related electrical engineering project management experience. Prior Supervisory experience preferred.

  • Looking for a highly organized individual

  • Likes to facilitate meetings but is also a good note taker as necessary. 

  • Exception in follow-up.  MUST be able to follow up with multiple individuals and groups regarding deadlines and deliverables. 

  • Diplomatic, yet can appropriately confront others when appropriate to get the results that are needed by the greater group. 


PgMP (Program Management Professional) or PMP (Project Management Professional) certifications preferred.


Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong organizational and analytical skills.

Ability to provide efficient, timely, reliable and courteous service to customers. Ability to effectively present information.


Requires advanced knowledge of financial terms and principles. A

bility to calculate intermediate figures such as percentages, discounts, and commissions. Conducts advanced financial analysis.


Ability to comprehend, analyze, and interpret complex documents. Ability to solve problems involving several options in situations.

Requires advanced analytical and quantitative skills.


Strong process skills, negotiating, decision-making and analytical skills are necessary. Demonstrated ability in project management processes, tools and techniques.

Ability to build and maintain effective professional/client relationships.

Intermediate skills with Microsoft Office Suite including MS Project.


Decisions made with thorough understanding of procedures, company policies, and business practices to achieve general results and deadlines. Responsible for setting work unit and/or project deadlines. Errors in judgment may cause short-term impact to department.
