Corporate Risk helps all Wells Fargo businesses identify and manage risk. The team focuses on several key risk types, including conduct, credit, financial crimes, information security, interest rate, liquidity, market, model, operational, regulatory compliance, reputation, strategic, and technology risk.
The group provides leadership, enhances communications, assists with problem identification and solutions, and shares best practices. In addition, the group provides an enterprise-wide view of risk, assists management and our Board of Directors in identifying and monitoring risks that may affect multiple lines of business, and takes appropriate action when business activities exceed the risk tolerance of the company.
The Compliance Officer will be expected to aid in the design, build, and execution of the Quality Assurance program for Compliance. This includes monitoring and assessment of the health of Compliance across the enterprise throughout the business and Compliance teams. Activities will include providing thought leadership and active engagement in program development and implementation. The Compliance Officer will partner with business and Compliance partners across the enterprise and/or specific groups to ensure the Compliance program is effectively executed and matured.
Quality Assurance Activities will be both formal/scheduled reviews, as well as ad-hoc reviews (i.e. validate remediation of issues prior to declaring completion).Â Quality Assurance activities will include planning, process review, test script development, assessment/validation activities, documentation, and preparing and communicating the final results.Â Monitoring activities may include reviewing documentation of ongoing monitoring activities, and recommending additional actions such as additional monitoring, remediation, or enhancements to results reporting.
7+ years of experience in risk management (includes compliance, financial crimes, operational risk, audit, legal, credit risk, market risk, IT systems security, business process management) or 7+ years of financial services industry experience, of which 5+ years must include direct experience in risk management
Ability to articulate issues, risks, and proposed solutions to various levels of staff and management
Ability to interact with all levels of an organization
Ability to prioritize work, meet deadlines, achieve goals, and work under pressure in a dynamic and complex environment
Ability to take initiative and work independently with minimal supervision in a structured environment
Ability to work and influence successfully within a matrix environment and build effective business partnerships with all levels of team members
Advanced Microsoft Office skills
Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy
Other Desired Qualifications
Process design or improvement experience
Knowledge and understanding of Six Sigma methodology
Experience testing policy and procedures/control testing
Ability to quickly understand a concept or process and the expected standards by which it should be evaluated
Ability to develop assessment, testing scripts, and monitoring plans
Ability to thoroughly document work papers, process, and justification for conclusions
Well-versed in process and control frameworks, as well as monitoring and reporting methodologies
Ability to be flexible, as the landscape and priorities can change quickly in the current environment
10+ yearâs experience related to Compliance, Risk Management, Process Control, or Audit
Experience in Audit, Compliance, Risk, and/or Testing
Experience providing âcredible challengeâ to business partners when necessary, with the ability to lead through influence
Experience working with Financial Industry Laws, Rules, Regulations and Guidance
Ability to travel up to 25% of the time
