Corporate Risk helps all Wells Fargo businesses identify and manage risk. The team focuses on several key risk types, including conduct, credit, financial crimes, information security, interest rate, liquidity, market, model, operational, regulatory compliance, reputation, strategic, and technology risk. The group provides leadership, enhances communications, assists with problem identification and solutions, and shares best practices. In addition, the group provides an enterprise-wide view of risk, assists management and our Board of Directors in identifying and monitoring risks that may affect multiple lines of business, and takes appropriate action when business activities exceed the risk tolerance of the company.
Wells Fargo Compliance is the companyâs compliance independent risk management function, providing company-wide leadership, standards, support, and independent oversight to ensure that all front-line business groups abide by applicable laws, rules, regulations, and regulatory guidance (regulatory requirements), meet compliance responsibilities, and manage compliance risks. Wells Fargo Compliance credibly challenges management decisions, business processes, and activities, and evaluates and assesses adherence to applicable regulatory requirements. It provides appropriate analysis, reporting, and escalation to senior management and the Board of Directors, sets minimum standards for the company, and gives advice, guidance, and support for compliance risk management activities across the enterprise.
As part of the Conduct Risk Analytics team, the Analytic Consultant 5 will be responsible for supporting the development, implementation, and execution of various analytics capabilities for Conduct Risk within Compliance, to identify/mitigate conduct related risks spanning ethics (inclusive of conflicts of interest), sales practices, market conduct, complaints management, and insider threat.
Specifically, the Analytic Consultant 5 will:
Develop data driven analytics capabilities to identify anomalies, outliers, emerging trends, and conduct risks across the Enterprise.Â Â
Leverage text analytics techniques to extract value and insights from unstructured conduct data.
Analyze very large, structured or unstructured data from multiple sources to extract value and actionable insights.
Partner with other Compliance Analytics, Corporate Risk, and LOB stakeholders to develop and enhance analytical capabilities related to Conduct Risk at the first line.
8+ years of experience in one or a combination of the following: reporting, analytics, or modeling; or a Masters degree or higher in a quantitative field such as applied math, statistics, engineering, physics, accounting, finance, economics, econometrics, computer sciences, or business/social and behavioral sciences with a quantitative emphasis and 5+ years of experience in one or a combination of the following: reporting, analytics, or modeling
Extensive knowledge and understanding of research and analysis
Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy
Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
Other Desired Qualifications
Demonstrated experience with ED&A environments like BMG/EIW/C2T, and MDSS
Strong SQL/SAS experience
Experience with R and/or Python
Extensive experience with Aster, Hadoop, and other Big Data platforms
Experience with text analytics
Demonstrated execution experience with the ability to work successfully under demanding deadlines in an environment experiencing rapid change
Proven experience in building partnerships, collaborating, and influencing at senior levels and across lines of business as well as with corporate partners
Ability to understand the big picture, combined with the ability to execute tactically
Ability to travel up to 10% of the time
