Responsible for very complex partner assignments to identify and define strategic business issues that require analyses and translates this information into insight, knowledge and understanding of the business and the industry. Consults and performs very complex analyses/ analysis design involving data mining from multiple sources and/or predictive modeling, regression/multivariate, financial, comparative analysis, customer/demographic analysis, etc. Analytics involved generally span multiple functional areas/business lines/data sources. Responsibilities also include identifying opportunities for additional statistical models and/or creating sophisticated computer modeling approaches to analyze and forecast business performance; participating in and/or leading management information capabilities development work; interpreting and presenting results of analyses and recommendations to senior management. Ensures adherence to data management/data governance regulations and policies. Data involved may be very large, structured or unstructured, and from multiple sources. To a certain degree, may be involved directly or indirectly in the technical build-out and/or support of databases, query tools, reporting tools, BI tools, dashboards, etc that enable analysis, modeling, and/or data visualization. Leads project/virtual teams & mentors lower level staff.
This Analytic Consultant 4 sits within the Production Business Insights (PBI) Office of WFHM to support fulfillment and sales operations analysis. The successful candidate will have strong business intelligence reporting, data mining, and communication skills. This position will work with technology teams, project teams, and business leaders to assist in decision-making and business optimization. We are looking for an analytics consultant that can build MicroStrategy reports and dashboards to assist in identifying data trends and patterns, quantify business implications, analyze key metric relationships, and provide actionable recommendations that will drive business performance.
Responsibilities for the Analytics Consultant include: â¢As needed, develops specific, customized reports, ad hoc analyses using SQL â¢As needed, develop data transformations using SAS â¢Analyzes key metrics for trends and relationships that can improve customer service, operational efficiency, profitability, and compliance scores â¢Compiles/mines data from a variety of sources â internal and external â¢Presents insights either in writing or verbally to senior leaders with recommendations; partners with business partners for consultation and ad-hoc analyses â¢Ensures adherence to data management/data governance regulations and policies â¢Partners with technology and/or with other business groups â¢Supports projects at the division and national level â¢Analyzes operational pilots and new business processes for effectiveness â¢Profiling data to identify outliers, quality issues, and inaccurate dataÂ
Preferred locations are Charlotte, NC; Des Moines, IA; Minneapolis, MN; Irving, TX, and Phoenix, AZ, however we may consider other locations throughout the United States.
Travel will be required up to 10% of the time.
6+ years of experience in one or a combination of the following: reporting, analytics, or modeling; or a Masters degree or higher in a quantitative field such as applied math, statistics, engineering, physics, accounting, finance, economics, econometrics, computer sciences, or business/social and behavioral sciences with a quantitative emphasis and 4+ years of experience in one or a combination of the following: reporting, analytics, or modeling
2+ years of SQL experience
2+ years of experience with end-to-end design and delivery of ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) applications
Extensive knowledge and understanding of research and analysis
Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy
Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
2+ years of SAS experience
Knowledge and understanding of business intelligence development and reporting
Knowledge and understanding of database querying and creating ad hoc reporting results using SQL or similar querying methods
Knowledge and understanding of home lending or consumer lending
Ability to research, compile, and perform complex analysis on critical operational data
Ability to prepare and present senior level communications
Ability to work and influence successfully within a matrix environment and build effective business partnerships with all levels of team members
Ability to develop operational reporting and performing complex data analysis
Ability to perform statistical and performance analytics
Ability to deliver dynamic presentations to business clients
Ability to consult, build, and maintain solid working relationships in and outside of immediate department
Experience with capacity planning, forecasting, process improvement, and measurements
Knowledge and understanding of databases and data mining techniques
Ability to prioritize work, meet deadlines, achieve goals, and work under pressure in a dynamic and complex environment
Other Desired Qualifications
â¢ Tableau and/or Microstrategy experience or other industry data visualization tools â¢ Mortgage industry experience preferred â¢ Ability to independently source data from multiple databases and datamarts, with data in a structured or unstructured format Â
