The Wholesale Business Process Management (BPM) team is seeking experienced professionals to help develop a strong operational excellence culture through the application of the Business Process Management (BPM) discipline.Â BPM is a management discipline for defining, measuring, improving, and governing business processes so that Wells Fargo can deliver consistent, desired outcomes for our customers; manage our operations efficiently and effectively; and strengthen risk management and compliance. The Wholesale Business Process Management team focuses on the implementation of BPM principle across Wells Fargo.Â By leveraging BPM, we pinpoint and analyze problems to move forward on a more efficient and effective path and deliver value to our business, customers and stakeholders.
The Wholesale Business Process Management group is searching for mid-senior level Process Engineers to support design and improvement initiatives within Wells Fargo's Wholesale Banking Group. Â The Group BPM Team is being built in line with Enterprise BPM standards. The BPM Process Engineer 2 will report to a BPM Process Engineer Manager. They will partner and collaborate to support members of the Group BPM team, various Lines of Business (LOBs), the Enterprise, and other related teams while applying a critical eye to improving the business. The BPM Process Engineer 2 will be expected to consult and drive for results on various process improvement engagements involving elements of data gathering/analysis, cross-functional meeting facilitation, strategy alignment, and/or change management.
Key responsibilities include:
Develop and lead redesign initiatives that encompass end-to-end analyses and future state redesigns within fast-paced environments, utilizing process expertise for multiple business groups
Complete and/or lead integrated process analyses, identifying procedural and control deficiencies, opportunities, and recommending solutions
Integrate vertical and may integrate horizontal solutions into the strategy
Overcome barriers related to cultural shifts, silo mentality as required
Ensure effective relationships among the design team(s) and partners
Manage assigned complex problems involving multiple, possibly competing, business processes/process segments to identify risks/ impacts/ opportunities and where analysis of situations or data requires an evaluation of intangible variance factors, conceptual thinking, and problem solving skills
Apply intermediate process engineering tools such as determining Sigma level, Takt Time, Value Stream Analysis, Regression, Hypothesis Testing and techniques that can be used to enhance processes for teams, departments and business units identified as inefficient or costly. Process reviews may impact vertical or horizontal business units
Include financial analysis
Create key indicators (metrics) for future state assessment
Drive business awareness of quality/process methodology
Consult with leaders and front-line team members to understand, influence, adapt analysis, and create alternatives for consideration, drive results, and bring issues to resolution
Leverage business acumen effectively to impart relevant information to business partners and matrixed leadership
May coach teams in LEAN/Six Sigma or Enterprise Process Engineering, process and tools
Provide coaching and mentor less experienced team members

They are accountable for execution of all applicable risk programs (Credit, Market, Financial Crimes, Operational, Regulatory Compliance), which includes effectively following and adhering to applicable Wells Fargo policies and procedures, appropriately fulfilling risk and compliance obligations, timely and effective escalation and remediation of issues, and making sound risk decisions. There is emphasis on proactive monitoring, governance, risk identification and escalation, as well as making sound risk decisions commensurate with the business unit's risk appetite and all risk and compliance program requirements.
7+ years of experience in one or a combination of the following: process engineering, military (supply chain, analytics and/or engineering); or LEAN/Six Sigma Black belt and 5+ years of experience in one or a combination of the following: process engineering, military (supply chain, analytics or engineering)
BS/BA degree or higher in a quantitative field such as mathematics, statistics, actuarial science, engineering, or physics
Knowledge and understanding of Business Process Management Notation (BPMN) software such as iGrafx
Knowledge and understanding of Statistical Analysis software such as Minitab
Facilitation skills such as Helix
Change Management skills such as Prosci/ADKAR
Knowledge and understanding of Rapid Process Automation software such as Blue Prism
Other Desired Qualifications
Relevant Strategy and/or Big 4 Consulting experience
Demonstrated experience leading large-scope and change intensive process improvement initiatives to successful conclusion
Ability to lead, present, and obtain buy-in from large stakeholder groups spanning staff team members through senior leadership Demonstrated experience with business process mapping tools such as Visio or iGrafx
Demonstrated ability to deliver relevant information to business partners in a clear, concise format
Demonstrated ability to facilitate effectively in either a face-to-face or virtual environment
Proven experience in developing and implementing process improvement strategies, validating positive financial results through the establishment of performance tracking capabilities
Demonstrated ability to execute process improvement methodologies with emphasis on Lean principles
Prior financial industry and/or Wholesale Banking experience
Demonstrated capability to manage multiple initiatives concurrently, recognizing the significance of competing priorities Knowledge and understanding of statistical analysis software, such as Minitab
Experience with development of performance management systems, including production standards development and application
Experience with leading others, either as direct reports or part of a formal project / initiative team
Knowledge and understanding of Rapid Process Automation and related tools, such as Blue Prism
Bachelor degree or equivalent with major in Engineering, Mathematics, Operations Research, or similar disciplineÂ Â
Wells Fargo Business Process Management Advanced learning level or Wells Fargo Business Process Management Advanced Knowledge Check and external LEAN/Six Sigma Black Belt within 1 year of job start date.
Ability to travel up to 15% of the time
