Advisor, Global Sourcing Operations

What Global Sourcing contributes to Cardinal Health

Purchasing is responsible to ensure that raw materials, supplies and equipment are procured and delivered in a timely manner, ensuring the efficient continuation of the production process. Sourcing is responsible for a strategic, systematic, collaborative process for selecting and managing a diverse supply base to create best total value for acquisition of all purchased materials, products and services in compliance with applicable policies, legal and regulatory requirements.


Dublin, OH Cardinal Health Corporate


  • Manages agreements with manufacturers to meet contractual obligations
  • Supports with purchase orders and product data in SAP
  • Acts as main point of contact with manufacturer and coordinate resolution of open issues and questions
  • Actively develops and manages relationships with manufacturers
  • Manages and participates in contract negotiations with manufacturers.
  • Completes data analysis to formulate economic position and negotiation strategy
  • Has active engagement with finance and other teams to ensure accurate forecasting of revenue and margin
  • Develops and maintains processes related to corporate sourcing, finance and the field
  • Works on special projects as assigned


  • Associate or Bachelor degree in Business Administration, Logistic, Supply Chain or related field preferred
  • Minimum of 3-4 years of experience in related field preferred
  • Demonstrated Inventory Management and forecasting experience strongly preferred
  • Preferred experience related to sourcing and/or supply chain
  • Prior SAP experience preferred
  • Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment
  • Travel: 0%-10% overnight travel to Indianapolis
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills. Able to communicate effectively and interact with personnel at all levels of technical ability and expertise
  • Results oriented, strategic thinker, able to work in a team environment and work independently
  • Experience with advanced data management, using analytic tools, systems and resources, preferred
  • Experience leading teams and project of large scope and complexity, preferred
  • Lean Six Sigma (LSS) or related experience, preferred
  • Strong data analysis and critical thinking skills

What is expected of you and others at this level

  • Ability to pull, analyze, and summarize data to be shared at all levels across the organization and externally to supplier partners. Leveraging data to recommend solutions, drive decision making, and achieve synergies.
  • Ability to build strong relationships and manage effectively across a heavily matrixed organization.
  • Lead and facilitate cross-functionally through project work, issue resolution, and best practice implementation.
  • Utilize knowledge of lean six sigma tools and resources to drive efficiency within the organization through process design and improvement.
  • Adaptability and experience with change management competencies
  • Effective communication and presentation skills. Ability to successfully communicate with all levels of the organization as well as with external supplier partners
  • Ability to participate in and / or lead multiple, complex projects simultaneously
  • Knowledge and experience in managing tools and systems, including but not limited to issue resolution troubleshooting, requirements gathering, and enhancement implementations.
  • Data management competencies including but not limited to data cleansing, establishing process controls to enable data integrity, and data validation.
