Location/Division Specific Information

Santa Clara, CA - BioProduction Division

BioProduction provides our biotechnology and biopharmaceutical customers with integrated ​​solutions across the entire bioproduction workflow. This position will reside in the Operations department and will manage commercial projects involving Bioprocess Equipment and Automation.

How will you make an impact?

The Bioproduction division is seeking a talented Project Manager who will be the primary customer interface managing the overall schedules and ensuring projects are delivered on time, on budget, and meeting or exceeding customers’ expectations. As a project manager in our fast-growing bioprocess equipment and automation business unit, this person will coordinate all activities with engineering / operations / field service to design / assemble / integrate / test / validate / install our standard products as well as customized solutions per customer’s user requirements.

What will you do?

• Create project schedules / Gantt charts and defining project milestones for standard and customized equipment used in bioproduction.
• Create BOM using Agile PLM based on the quoted bioprocess equipment and automation systems.
• Generate/Review engineering deliverables such as process flow diagram and P&IDs; system architecture; panel layouts, wiring schematics, IO list.
• Lead design reviews with client, engineering, and suppliers.
• Manage change requests throughout project cycle.
• Identify and manage project risks and issues.
• Schedule, facilitate, and report weekly project meetings with clients and internal teams.
• Collaborating with 3rd party suppliers to meet project milestones and deliverables.
• Managing multiple, fast track projects simultaneously.
• System staging support for equipment commissioning and check out, FAT, SAT and IOQ.
• Provides project management assistance to installed base customers and develops / maintains great customer relationships.
• Managing material shipments, including international import / exports, with customers, suppliers, and logistics.

How will you get here?

Education

BS degree in Science / Engineering field and / or equivalent experience is required. MS is desired.

Experience

• 10 years of Project Management experience leading projects of varied scale and complexity.
• 3 to 5 years of managing System Integration (Emerson or similar systems) and / or Validation projects in cGMP environment.
• Experience working in a fast-paced manufacturing industry and / or have experience with biotech process workflows.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

• PMP certification or equivalent is desired.
• Ability to be a leader and make decisions with authority.
• Ability to prioritize activities and follow through to completion.
• Requires excellent organization and communication skills.
• Experience with Salesforce and Oracle (ERP) / Agile (PLM) programs will help.
