Wholesale Banking provides financial solutions to businesses across the United States and globally.Â Our four major business lines include Corporate & Investment Banking, Commercial Banking, Commercial Real Estate, and Wells Fargo Commercial Capital.Â We also have groups in credit risk, group risk, finance, marketing, human relations, and the Wholesale Chief Operating Office that support our businesses.
The Commercial Banking Risk Programs team has an career opportunity for an Business Risk and Control Officer. The role will be responsible for running the business level scenario analysis program for Commercial Banking.Â Business level scenarios are a key component of Wells Fargo's Operational Risk Framework and enable the business to identify, measure, and manage high-severity operational risks.Â The scenarios also inform other risk management programs such as Risk Control Self-Assessment, Enterprise Risk Identification and Assessment, and Enterprise Scenario Analysis.Â The latter supports stress testing and helps to ensure that Wells Fargo is appropriately capitalized.
Key responsibilities of the role include supporting the following: â¢ Partnering with key stakeholders from the business lines operational risk team, and other functional areas â¢ Analyzing risk and control information and working with key stakeholders to determine risks or scenarios to focus on for each cycle of scenario analysis execution. Then creating and managing the scenario plan, while monitoring off-cycle triggers. â¢ Ensuring that the scenario plan is reviewed, challenged, and approved by the Business Group Chief Operating Officer or equivalent. â¢ Identifying a scenario champion for each risk, training them, and working with them to identify workshop participants and define a quorum for workshops. â¢ Training workshop participants prior to workshops. â¢ Preparing and distributing workshop materials, including data packs and workshop deck prior to workshops. â¢ Facilitating workshops meetings involving between 10 to 50 cross-functional participants. â¢ Capturing workshop output including summary decks and minutes. â¢ Distributing the workshop results to workshop participants for affirmation. â¢ Preparing decks for governance and supporting presentation of the workshop results to the Business Group Risk and Control Committee for review, challenge, and approval. â¢ Publishing final results for utilization by other risk management capabilities. â¢ Ensuring that any risk management ideas identified during workshops are actioned by the appropriate owners. â¢ Ensuring that their scenarios are executed and documented in compliance with the Global Scenario Analysis Policy, Procedure, and applicable guidance from the Operational Risk team. â¢ Partnering with the Operational Risk team to drive continuous improvement regarding the efficiency, effectiveness, and value of the business level scenario program.

There is emphasis on proactive monitoring, governance, risk identification and escalation, as well as making sound risk decisions commensurate with the business unit's risk appetite and all risk and compliance program requirements.
Base salary for this role is: CO-Denver - Min: $110,600 Mid: $158,000 Max: $205,400
May be considered for a discretionary bonus, Restricted Share Rights, or other long term incentive awards
7+ years of experience in risk management (includes compliance, financial crimes, operational risk, audit, legal, credit risk, market risk, IT systems security, business process management) or 7+ years of financial services industry experience, of which 5+ years must include direct experience in risk management
Ability to coordinate completion of multiple tasks and meet aggressive time frames
Ability to interact with all levels of an organization
Advanced Microsoft Office skills
Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy
