Commercial Contract Specialist
Cepheid, part of the Danaher Corporation group of companies, is seeking a Commercial Contract Specialist for its Sunnyvale, CA office. The Commercial Contract Specialist will be an integral part of the Companys Sales Operations department. Cepheid is a global manufacturer and distributor of diagnostic products with offices throughout the world. The Commercial Contract Specialist will support the members of the business operations, sales, and legal teams with contract administration and other special projects, as assigned.
ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Review, draft and assist with negotiating a wide variety of non-commercial and commercial contracts, such as:
Non-Disclosure Agreements, Sales and Service agreements, Master Services Agreements and Statements of Work.
Work closely and collaboratively with internal customers regarding contract terms and processes.
Separate business and legal issues and drive both to closure.
Organize and maintain library of forms, provisions, templates and other resources.
Provide solutions to resolve issues regarding internal customer concerns and other matters, as necessary.
Recommend and implement processes and procedures to drive efficiency and improve contract workflow.
Apply problem-solving skills and judgment to assist in managing corporate risk.
Identify best practices to influence continuous improvement in the organization.
Provide additional support on special projects, as needed.
Education or Experience (in years):
High school degree (or equivalent experience) with 2-4 years of relevant work experience.
Knowledge and skills:
Knowledge of standard contract terms.
Has developed specialized knowledge of healthcare fraud and abuse laws, rules, regulations, regulatory guidance, and industry codes, including the federal Anti-Kickback Statute, False Claims Act, and HIPAA, through job related training and considerable on-the-job experience.
Works closely with business units, as necessary.
Provides solutions to problems in situations that are atypical or infrequently occurring based on practice and existing procedures. Gathers and analyzes data to identify and solve problems that arise with little or no precedent. Will use independent judgment and discretion in developing solutions to address a variety of issues regarding contracts and related problems of basic scope and complexity.
Can quickly acquire knowledge of new business activities or issues.
Ability to adjust to changing job requirements and priorities in order to meet dynamic needs and workflow.
Ability to work in a team-oriented environment and meet tight deadlines.
Must demonstrate a high degree of organizational skills and professionalism.
Strong presentation and written and verbal communication skills; strong project management skills.
